a month ago, i stopped at an arabic calligraphy piece hand painted on a wall. i, along with so many of my friends, did not know how to read it, but was awed by how beautiful the composition is. it turns out that it is a metaphor for how much freedom and knowledge are valued by humans.
in arabic, it reads:
أعز مكان في الدنى سرج سابح وخير جليس في الزمان كتاب

Hakoura explores the expressive and culinary possibilities of thyme, layering unexpected ingredients and ideas to explore the question: ‘where could zaatar go?’.
A dynamic Arabic ‘حاكورة’ logo is bespokely designed to visually translate the unique character of each of the 5 blends: Origin's Blend, Ashwagandha Bliss, Earth's Offering, Umami Noir, and Protein Dust.
i completed this project almost a year ago. it was, and still is, a pleasure of mine to contribute to this beautiful and daring brand.
🕘 clock face experiment using my typeface ‘Ecto’
i realized too late that i admire analog watches, although, it is slightly more difficult for me to read them.
after so much ‘time’ spent on fine tuning the colors and font weight variation speed (and decision fatigue), i ended up with this expression.
i find this play on hierarchy and color application to be delicious and pleasant. what do you think?

the design space of ‘Ecto’, a bilingual (arabic+latin) variable font designed by yours truly. it is an element/unit based typeface, and the variation axes are Weight, Roundedness, and Void.
i am also absolutely enjoying the music and identity of @barcode_noun and might be excessively using it here from now on.

‘do we really have a choice?’ 🎠
one big لا equates to a thousand نعم.
i used ‘ecto’, a variable bilingual typeface that i have been quietly designing for a while now.
i'm also rekindling my love for kinetic typography, so this is post 1/3 (maybe) in a series of animation.

the sweet conclusion of a 6 months-long project with a sublime outcome. it was a career-dream coming true to be collaborating with the inspiring humans behind that company.
my contribution was with the clockface and wallpaper designs of a phone that had an overwhelmingly positive perception; the phone was available in only 1,000 units and sold out in ≈ 5 minutes.
anyone who knows me could estimate how ecstatic that experience of mine was; it was the ultimate form of validation of being part of this community for almost 5 years now.
congratulations for all the winners and participants in this project. i am looking forward to what's next :)
