The @stcroixvalleypotterytour was bananas this year.
I’m filled with excitement, joy and beholden for the outpouring of support and enthusiasm, from the past weekend.
All of these artists have devoted their lives to making observations and experiments in clay , and that is pretty cool. I’m fortunate to stand with them.
It takes many hands to raise this event.
There are many people behind and in front of the scenes that make this happen. There is kind folks greeting everyone, organizing parking, wrapping pots, and providing hospitality. They are the glue that makes this possible.
Thank you so much for your support and kindness. See ya next time.

The West Chicago stop welcomes a new face to the Northern Illinois Pottery tour this year.Peter Jadoonath is excited for people to see his experiments combining pottery shapes, drawings and character appendages. Working in groups and series of pots, he draws upon ideas of absurdity, mundane, with a hint of dark comedy. Peter joins us from Minnesota. Please join us in West Chicago June 6th and 7th 10am-5pm!

True dreams of the St. Croix Valley Pottery Tour, just a mere 3 weeks away. It’s always this time of year shortly before the pottery tour that our magnolia tree blooms its intoxicating flowers. It blossoms when the weather is changing. Winter shakes its grip and summer looms in the distance. We’re lucky if it lasts a week, the wind and rain usually cause the flowers to drop faster than we’d hope.
The pottery tour is kinda the same thing. All the artists are in their own version of “The Floor is Lava” as they trip over pots in their workshops. It’s an adventure to pack up, drive their wares across the country , arrive, set up and then the event is underway. It’s a weekend full of ole friends laughing and new friends forging bonds. Neighbors visit, families congratulate, enthusiastic crowds come from far and wide, and all the pottery that dreams are made of, find new homes. And just as fast as it comes, it’s over.
If you’ve always wanted to come to the event, why not this year? It’s free to attend, all of the artists are on site, theres hospitality at each tour stop. Come say hi.

Unfortunately @bianka_groves_delacruz won’t be able to attend this year. Bianka you’ll be missed.
If you’re familiar with my pottery ideas, there’s a “choose your own adventure” nature to them.
Now, I figured out how to make “choose your own adventure” mini-comix. All on one sheet of paper. Pretty cool.
If you want one. Just DM me your details and I’ll send you one. If you like it and want to make a mini donation that’s cool, if you don’t like it, then just leave it on the shelf at the grocery story in the cereal isle. Preferably next to the Frosted Flakes or Count Chocula.
Stay tuned, for more volumes.
Last year a friend asked me “do you still make pots”?
I said “Of course I do, just not as much”.
You know how circumstances change in your life, opportunities present themselves, long awaited ideas finally gnaw away to the front of your brain.
Given the how my clay work had evolved over the past ten years it was evident to me that in order to advance the work, I needed to spend some time making comic books. But how, but where, but when?
It started with making a desk space, then it had to become a habit of sitting down and drawing every day. Being willing to fail in front of myself and believe in an unknown destination. A year and half ago I started setting creative time aside for this, and since this past September I’ve been involved in a year long comic making program. It’s completely blown my mind. Comics are pretty much the coolest thing there is. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to realize this. But as the saying goes, things are presented to you when you are ready.
The goal is to merge all this with the clay work and to make some comix and books. I can’t control the speed that this happens though, cuz Gus controls the hyper-drive.
