Oh, well maybe it is true what they say… you know, the closing of a door is the opening of another door… an ending is just a new beginning… I don’t really know, but in a nice and surprising turn of events, I’m DJing at one of my favourite spots THIS SATURDAY! I mean, I’ve been dying to play here since it opened (and have done once or twice, including that legendary B2B with @gesk_music ... "THIS SONG IS A SCAM"). There's nothing quite like a set on de lane, pretty much on my doorstep (now that is luxury!) So so excited about this, and hopefully it is the start of something new! No doubt it is the (only) place to be on Lark Lane, and for such a small place, they seem to have constantly some of the best DJs around (yes thats a bold claim, certainly some of me faves DJs in Liverpool), and I truly can’t wait to play some tunes there! Unfortunately, due to (totally foreseeable, I must admit) circumstances, I can only play an earlier set, but absolutely made up to have the OG homey holmesy bad eror lad that is EA MOON stepping it up and playing the closing set. Apparently its been two years since he’s played out!!! WTF!!! Also, I never realised they have an “UP” in the post code… so its meant to be, UP IT UP FOR LYF! Awww man, there’s just so much I want (and wanted) to post and say about the garden, but actually I really can’t be bothered… also cause I realise that my insta is like 90% posts about @kazimiergarden_ But yes, there’s plenty of great vids from last week’s final bash, and indeed it was the best possible send off I could have hoped for! I got to play loads of my unreleased (and released) tunes, some AFX (no surprise there), a super TOP SECRET project, and even some breakcore (now that's more like it!)... More about all that later… I finished my set with Tubular Bells followed by Three Hours. Woke up a happy man! 'Till next time, be seeing you xxx

#AVANTGARDEN (2012 - 2026) #RIP Right, here we are… This Friday will see my long-term 13 year residency at the @kazimiergarden_ come to an end. I’ve had lots of msgs asking why and sending their love and support, which I really appreciate. I don’t think it’d be fair to go into the details of why, but I'll say it wasn't my choice. I will do another post too, but I don’t want to dwell on it and only want to focus on the good times. It's fair to say that this has been my first residency (as well as being an OG resident there since it opened in 2012), and a spiritual home from home, a haven to play all of my weird and wonderful music. Countless hours, millions of records, so many themed DJ sets. I want to go out with a bang and go ALL IN — (or better, ALL OUT), and play everything and anything! This was the OG video before I ended up slowing it down and putting that AFX track on it, after reading that apparently it was some kind of viral tiktok meme bigger than Taylor Swift, which made me LOL really hard (and I aptly captioned with “Errr.. NO WORDS”). Very (VERY!) honoured and excited to be doing a presentation and DJ set for the Revolving Grooves - Vinyl Culture Symposium at @livhopecreative uni campus on #RecordStoreDay. I will be delivering a talk about my own experience with vinyl, co-running a net-label (@upitup.records ), pressing and distributing my own record, and of course DJing and collecting vinyl (although I don’t really see myself as a collector, if you’ve seen any of my vinyl sets, you would know by the way I treat my records). Super excited to be doing al DJ set in the evening too, nonetheless on the almighty homemade @equityhifi sound system. Feels like these days playing on vinyl (unless you can demand it on your rider that is) is getting quite obsolete and much harder… maybe its just my experience, but it sure feels like less and fewer places have decks (and/or know how to set them up). Thanks so much @manolimoriaty for the invite. The events are free entry but very limited capacity of just 50ppl, so booking on eventbrite highly recommended! PS: Yep, says free refreshments...

NB: Slightly bittersweet post... Here's a couple of clips from my AVANTGARDEN set at @kazimiergarden_ last month, courtesy of @lauraintheworld__ Was a really good vibe and great to see lots of people going wild on the “dancefloor” (or aka, the “gravel”) But unfortunately, its with a heavy heart that I have to announce that this Friday will be the second-to-last ever AVANTGARDEN, and my long time residency at the garden is finally coming to an end. I will do a proper post about it all closer to the date of the actual last one (which is in April, the 24th, date for diary), obvs it would be great and mean a lot to see as many peeps come down to celebrate (or mourn) this end of an era! pt. 3/3 of ASIMETRIA (LIVE AV) clips at @outerwavesfestival The final piece of a triptych of vids courtesy of @garbagemerchant (thanks mate, really appreciate it!). It was an honour to play the closing set at this festival and come on stage right after GONG. Its a short vid but I think its also the only evidence in existence of this track (which I only ever play live). A completely un-released, un-named, un-finished full on 3L3CTRO banger for the heads, and you get a great taste of @kromavision ’s outstanding visuals in full action! I have only played this in the ASIMETRIA live sets, and I love the ever evolving build up to a drop that’s never going to happen, where the snares slowly become a sea bed... or floor... or maybe even a wall, of noise that ends up fully compensating and filling the whole emotional layers of the track! Errr... no words

WOW! Right yeah, I haven’t actually been on here for ages, deleted insta for a good few months and didn’t actually have any impulse nor motivation whatsoever to post anything (which felt great lol!), guess it comes and goes in waves. I still do want to do a proper post about my birthday tho, sorry If I didn’t get back to you and/or answered msgs (on here), I did text individually everyone I could think of (you know who you are, and if not, sorry, but you should know). Its not YOU, its ME! ;) Anyway, as I do, I really only post things with a delay of approx 2 months (or more) since they happened (few exceptions have applied). Here’s some clips of my set at the @quarryliverpool opening weekend (and indeed, as a newly just turned 40yr young old man). Needless to say it was absolutely incredible and this is a venue that I love and was a much needed new space in Liverpool, and I’m so glad its back at this historic site (if you don’t know, go figure!). Loved being sandwiched with a set between @lupini_______ and @polymaas_ (what a treat!). Best thing about resurfacing these past moments is getting all those memories back, rather than as fleeting moments left behind to the algorithm and our own forgetfulness.
