On the opening day of ‘Brutal realities’ in @aaimachine every artist present wore, on their back, a temporary tattoo depicting their own phone showing a screenshot they themselves had taken, All together forming a flattened mosaic of our collective doomscroll: cooking tutorials, murdered bodies, Al generated sludge, algorithmic dead space … A timeline sliding from brutal reality to brutal banality. Feel welcome to read a reflection about the work on my website. …. Putting it on our backs then is a gesture of recognizing the expansion of what body is, and locating it. This is body now, my phone sinking through my chest, its material being metabolized to then blend with the scars or genetically determined marks that were already there on my back. Principles Opening 11.12.2025, 18:00 An exhibition with @jacobl.cht en @doub.ll in dialogue with @maartje.claes Opening: 11.12.2025, 18:00 Exhibition: 11.12—21.12.25 Open Friday-Sunday between 2pm and 6pm or by appointment. Address: Maison Liu-de Biolley, Rue Le Lorrain 60, 1080 Molenbeek Supported by: Stichting Velge and Jehanne de Biolley * A principle is a supposed fundamental truth, rule or belief — something that could possibly prompt a chain of reasoning, or govern one’s behaviour. In Principles Lennert Lefever and Jacob Lambrecht, in dialogue with Maartje Claes, comb through personal props and vanishing points, staging a dialogue between a painter and a mouse. The painter’s principles imitate the language of commandments, axioms or scientific laws, revealing how flimsy, theatrical and imaginative our systems of truth can be. The mouse sets the camera, turns around and exits the scene. The situation that grows between the two of them contains proposals for how a world might be understood. A sliver of pop meets moving images. See: you hear a familiar melody, slightly mystical, then that boomerang-like return, an antimonument, an apple? For both the painter and the mouse, attention requires a stepping back from the self. Jacob Lambrecht, Lennert Lefever and Maartje Claes want to engage with the world as they find it; taking all the material mess of the present seriously

Jan Jambon stomach examination (whats inside??) A deepfaked video of me getting a stomach examination while wearing the face of minister of culture @janjambon . The around thirty nylon masks that were accompanying the video were allowed to be worn all over the exhibition. The video and masks are one in the question; whats inside? A question both literal and figurative. Presented in the dining hall of @lamaisondesarts1030 for @artcontestasbl Would not have been possible without the help of @a_malicious_menace ❤️. Also thank you to the jury for my first ever prize ‼️ To see / read more about this work visit

Pt2 from the summer school in Valga at @vares.space with @kunstiryhmitus . Was so much fun. ❤️‍🔥 thank you to ALL!!!! Also thank you to @margus_tammik for the pictures. During one of our walks trough the city we found this anonymous, forgotten space between two buildings. Upon considering it, the idea of planting a bone between the buildings took a hold of my mind. That same day I started sculpting a femur bone from birch wood. It would take approximately 7 hours to finish. Someone said that I (my body with all its muscles bones and tendons) had become a Lynchean agent of this bone that had to be there. I think it is a great description. The title; ‘I WAS HERE?’ is a grafitti we encountered on one of the walks. For the title I added a questionmark. The work was presented together with that of @elenpichkhadze . From the summer school in Valga at @vares.space with @kunstiryhmitus . Was so much fun. ❤️‍🔥 thank you to ALL!!!! Also Timur, our small friend. ‘Valga igavese sõpruse kivi’ (Valga friendship forever rock) was christened as a cultural monument on 23rd of August 2024. The event was open to the public and the whole of Valga’s city council was invited but nobody came except one passerby who stopped to listen. I gave a public speech with an Estonian translator (thank you @metzalaura ). As to not give a single person the honor of cutting the red ribbon, we brought a lot of them to be cut by everyone present. For more info about why we did this and about the context of this mysterious work is please visit freejacob.com Friendship forever!!!!!
