O! Starring my beloved, inimitable maverick #Momus (#NickCurrie). My new film ‘An introduction to split’ to be seen 28, 30, 31 May + 6 June (2026) as part of my solo exhibition @st._souci .
And so, you are very much invited.
Liene Aerts wrote a text about my work!
If you type in our name; LA + LL you’ll find it.
The combo “Zen frog, einmalig, Re-enactment crew” works just as well.
On the opening day of ‘Brutal realities’ in @aaimachine every artist present wore, on their back, a temporary tattoo depicting their own phone showing a screenshot they themselves had taken, All together forming a flattened mosaic of our collective doomscroll: cooking tutorials, murdered bodies, Al generated sludge, algorithmic dead space … A timeline sliding from brutal reality to brutal banality.
Feel welcome to read a reflection about the work on my website.
….
Putting it on our backs then is a gesture of recognizing the expansion of what body is, and locating it. This is body now, my phone sinking through my chest, its material being metabolized to then blend with the scars or genetically determined marks that were already there on my back.

Fragment from ‘Becoming a Pixel, returning’
Three years ago, I shot this film on the abandoned island of Nngida Kupá Kupá - a one-kilometer comma in the Aegean. For the exhibition opening this Thursday, I revisited the material from that luminous time: living in Athens with Seba, squating a villa-on-the-hill with Dutch artist-on-the-run Sjim, having a disorienting surplus of time - sunlit hours to think and read.
I tried, to become a pixel, to be absorbed (fully!) by the world; to become one.
Opening this Thursday, 11 December.

A principle is a supposed fundamental truth, rule or belief — something that could possibly prompt a
chain of reasoning, or govern one’s behaviour. In Principles Lennert Lefever and Jacob Lambrecht, in
dialogue with Maartje Claes, comb through personal props and vanishing points, staging a dialogue
between a painter and a mouse. The painter’s principles imitate the language of commandments,
axioms or scientific laws, revealing how flimsy, theatrical and imaginative our systems of truth can be.
The mouse sets the camera, turns around and exits the scene. The situation that grows between the two
of them contains proposals for how a world might be understood. A sliver of pop meets moving
images. See: you hear a familiar melody, slightly mystical, then that boomerang-like return, an antimonument, an apple? For both the painter and the mouse, attention requires a stepping back from the self. Jacob Lambrecht, Lennert Lefever and Maartje Claes want to engage with the world as they find it; taking all the material mess of the present seriously

EINMALIG EVENT, ICH WILL IN DAS NU SEIN!
Lots of things were going on in THAT space.
I list 3 things that happened that week:
1. The jury that had to judge me arrived on a film set. Stated by me: I just wrote a ‘zaaltekst’ and didn’t particularly want to show work. They could decide to go read this piece of paper-finding a way to go up to this 8m high A4 artist statement.
2. I invited the master students to come and witness the first tunnel being drilled from one side of the world to the other. We waited in a field on the outskirts of Ghent, where - that very day - the tunnel was supposed to complete itself and a hole would break through the ground.
3. An apple engraved with the word ‘Einmalig’ lay rotting in the space under warm temperatures. Its engraving slowly became unreadable. TYD TARD WAERHYT.

A lecture I gave to #simondelobel in the Kunstenbib archives earlier this year, when I was still deep in the early stages of my research on ‘the hole’ in far-off Anderlecht.
Since then, that research has grown into a full body of work, which I’m now showing as part of my graduation at @schoolofartsgent
Opens tomorrow!
Runs 26–29 June.
Einmalig!
See you there.
Open Secret is a touring internet cinema and screening series that explores the porous boundaries between digital culture, artistic collaboration, and experimental film. Launched in April 2024, it resists fixed definitions, allowing each screening to recontextualize the work and reshape its meaning. Rooted in a network of artists with strong online practices, Open Secret foregrounds the ephemeral, memetic, and infrastructural nature of internet-based films—works that evolve, glitch, reformulate, and reflect the conditions of their own circulation. More than a program, it is an ongoing inquiry into how moving images move through us, both online and off.
Following screenings in New York, London, Lisbon, Milan, Vienna, Tehran, Graz, Berlin, Prague, Tokyo, Dhaka, Dubai, Hong Kong, Copenhagen, Manchester, Edinburgh, Malmö, and beyond, Open Secret now comes to Brussels.
