Back to a more stock front suspension setup with the less is more theme as of late. @tecarts86 full urethane bushings, no more poly! @toyota_gazoo_racing heritage AE86 Steering knuckles, brand new genuine Toyota LCA, tie rods, steering yoke on OEM AE rack. Vintage REVOLVER NRCA as I had a seriously dangerous experience with my T3 junk NRCA’s stripping out resulting in crucial bolts backing themselves out. Decided to give the true and tried REVOLVER setup a shot and I love it! @shockthemob SPL V1 coilover with TRD blue short strokes. New V2 @expert_oz_official and @tokyo.twin.power floor mats to match the fading interior better than the blue/black checkered. Been testing the new @shibata_r31house 240 and 180 TW 185/60r14 tires for a year now and love them for the street and touge! Back to genuine Toyota 4.778 final built with a TRD two way with added clutch plates, sucks that the transmission is anything but happy now :/ Have a group buy on REVOLVER long 5th gears and full Genuine Toyota rebuild to replace the M Factory knock off that’s caused the original transmission to become really tough, notchy and absolutely a pain to use. Can’t believe how my car has held up for nearly a decade and keeps giving. Thanks to everyone whose put hours into helping with this machine, she’s finally got a solid garage at my new headquarters in SoCal. All of these parts are available from my business @shockthemob . Another refresh is due this year! #AE86

Thank you to everyone that came out to our @cafe_86 meeting for @tecarts86 ! We were elated when 鎌田さん contacted us to be apart of their LHD Sr5 AE86 build by sourcing them an LHD dash to produce their new leather dash cap and to organize both the Las Vegas and LA AE86 gatherings. We appreciate everyone who kindly attended our meet for respecting the Cafe86 parking lots, supporting James the owner of each venue and for giving Tec Art’s a warm welcome back to America. He asked us to translate at the last AE86 meeting he attended in SoCal and it was a pleasure to involved in this one again! A big thank you to @_abe_cruz for the wonderful photos! My AE86 street car has never felt better, yet it feels far more sluggish on the new Apple Valley Speedway layout and track surface. The added track width changes paired with fresh pavement make it a bit more difficult to connect the entire track with a nearly stock, refreshed 3 rib 4AGE and entire GTS drivetrain. This lap was mostly a joke after driving the car in the 100+ degree heat for about an hour. Toda 264/256 7.9mm lift cams TRD 0.8mm Head gasket Clean injectors older than I am. Stock crunchy t50 transmission with light flywheel and stock full face exedy clutch with a clapped M factory 5th, felt great before I had it rebuilt with the M factory, never again. Freshly rebuilt TRD 2 way w/ TRD solid pinion spacer, OEM Toyota used 4.556 from @naozo_86 New bearings throughout the entire car, aside from the engine lmao. @zegrace8614 type 3 drift knuckles, full cusco A Arms, @shockthemob new original coilover system, @impulse_japan_ae86 6.4kg rear springs, fresh TRD blue dampers and Cusco components elsewhere. Everything is fresh, but not even brand new TE37's and Dunlop Direzzas up front, starfires in the rear at 100psi cold could keep the revs up at a hot summer day at the new AVS kart track. Shoutout to @harddippin and @b2b_autoperformance for hosting the event! #AE86

Sandi’s first event back was a huge success thanks to @originaldonjosh for graciously passing me down his spot in @finalbout after giving it his all on his turbo KA24 s13 build. Horse Thief mile was challenging with a mostly stock 16v, the elevation changes and sweeping high speed turns were absolutely exhilarating to slide! I was taken aback at the breathtaking desert landscape that Willow Springs has called home for over half a century, I seriously cannot believe we have race tracks like this in California. I can’t thank Josh, @jwongphoto for bringing my whee spacers down to clear the new TE37’s or the Final Bout staff for hosting a well out put together, fun and safe drift event for us all to enjoy at this high level circuit. So reinvigorated to build my coupe and rip these SoCal tracks after taking my time to put Sandy together! This was my first time driving her on track after over a year long hiatus, drifting an LHD Corolla again was comforting! The new OEM Toyota 4.556 was a bit too long for my refreshed 16v with Toda Cams and a TRD headgasket. If I had more than a day to prep, I would have planned to drop in my spare 4.888 with TRD 2 way! Really disappointed in my transmission, was hoping the thorough clean, reseal and fresh oil would be enough to freshen it up but the M Factory long 5th gear has seriously taken its toll, the shifting this track demanded unfortunately highlighted the excessive wear and stress the aftermarket gear set has put on my gearbox. Excited to continue to build and drive regardless! Thanks to everyone that helped me on long days and nights rebuilding Sandy from the ground up.
