Check out the short documentary I made on the rise of craft beer! It was a great time for me in my life and joining a community that is meaningful to me is something I am grateful for! ๐Ÿบ A version without the new opening narrative (my personal narrative lol) was shown at the Sante Adairius Rustic Ales brewery this year at 2/22 during craft beer week to a full house! Thanks everyone, including of course Andy and Tyler that worked on it with me and everyone that supported. โค๏ธ What's next? Working on it. ๐Ÿ’ช On Youtube via channel: /unfiltered-kyb Direct Video link: /@UnfilteredCreativesSeries @rusticales @wondrousbrewing @lazyduckbrewing

When I sent over the application to be a presenter at Stanford WebCamp, I merely wanted to give back to the community. My first years at Stanford, I asked a lot of questions and now was the chance to answer some! ๐Ÿ™ Mission accomplished, but the way I did it evolved over the time I spent making it. I decided that I can go through the crucial bits of who, what, why, when, and etc ... although useful, it would be just slightly better than reading the website resources. ๐Ÿค“ So I decided to combine it with my story more. I went briefly into relevant personal/professional attributes to give the talk some life. Digging up my old photos wearing jQuery gear, reminiscing about early days CMS platforms... are all amazing memories. Thank you to the organizers, the sponsors of the after-party, the attendees, Zoom audience and the Stanford community! ๐ŸŒฒ

I've attended every Stanford WebCamp since I found out about it at my time at Stanford. Why? To learn how to do stuff. ๐Ÿค“ AND that's why I am going to present this year with what I learned on my journey to improve the websites I work on at Stanford these last few years. ๐ŸŒฒ It will be held on May 1st, at 3PM in Tresidder Memorial Union. If you are thinking about deploying a Drupal subtheme, stop by! ๐Ÿ’ง See y'all on Friday!

You got ๐˜๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฃ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ in January, now prepare for ๐˜Š๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ง๐˜ต ๐˜‰๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ in May! ๐ŸŽ My second foray into self-publishing photobooks will feature improvements from what I learned in the last installment. ๐Ÿ“š So prepare for pictures, the big city, and my point of view. Probably no pictures of craft beer though if you are wondering. ๐Ÿ“ธ

One thing that I have never done before up until last November was to shoot a studio portrait. It was a great experience working with @katerynasavenkova as the model at the old @thecoterieden studio in San Jose. Let's see if I can squeeze another one in this year to build on what I learned... Thanks Kate, Ankur, Daniel, and everyone there that day! ๐Ÿ“ธ

Here is some photography from Highball, my debut photo book released this past January. Japan is just a visual marvelโ€ฆ I was constantly inspired by the vast array of ambient light and shifting color palettesโ€”from day to night, indoors and out. You can find the link to purchase a copy in my profile. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿ˜˜ #tokyo #photography #nikon

I would have thought I would have designed a craft beer label first but it turned out to be whiskey. A rye whiskey at that! For those that know me, I do love a bright color that just cuts through the screen or just stands out on the shelf. These photos were taken in a photo studio at San Jose, CA.

Photography from Highball, my first photo book that came out last month. You can find the link in my profile for purchase. One of the fun parts about Tokyo is that you can find all kinds of street personalities. Urban utility poles laden with stickers, to train station alleys, to neighborhoods... it has it all.

Working on this film project has been a journey and I am glad it has led to a lot of fun and exciting times that would not have happened if not for its existence. Including the screening that happened on Sunday where a lot of the craft beer OGs came out. The craft community has evolved but it is still there. The project is almost complete now that I have the footage from the event itself to make the final cut.

Iโ€™ve been sitting on this project since Summer 2025, and @55110whiskey just officially announced it to their members. ๐Ÿฅƒ I had the pleasure of designing the label for their latest @rarecharacterwhiskey barrel pick. We wanted to celebrate the "Rye" in Rye Whiskey, so I created a botanical rye illustration with a bold, pop-art twist. This rye whiskey will soon be available to the whiskey members through their private online store.

The first time I considered making a video was during the height of the pandemic. I just wanted to get out of the house and make something Iโ€™ve never made before. Editing Zoom footage for work during that time just made me want to do something even more. Video has a very high skill cliff but in the last 6 years I managed to slowly get there. These days I make videos all the time for work but tomorrow I will be showing my first documentary short at Sante Adairius brewery in Captiola. The project is about craft beer as it grew into its height the last decade or so. The project is called Unfiltered: Know Your Brewer. Please come to the brewery to view it and for a bottle share with beers from that time period by myself and others. Sante Adairius is generously providing a bottle of 12 and Planetary Twins to the bottle share. Sincere thank you to everyone who has helped me with the project or was part of the scene a decade ago. Of course, Andy S and Tyler S were part of the team helping get it all together at different stages.
