This is how I write .. can’t wait for yall to hear @starmotherband !!! I’m so proud of this new one, yall. My last album, American Spirit Blues, was recorded in Austin TX with the wonderful @james.jones.music We created an expansive, Americana sound, inspired heavily by Paul Simon. I played a little bit o’ everything here .. guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and even the accordion. For @starmotherband - I sought out @orbstudiosatx because I wanted a completely different sound. I’ve been writing (and rewriting) this album for the past six years .. during that time, I got sober. A lot of my personal struggles are detailed in the new record. I’m very open and honest, and self-deprecating .. but I’m proud of this effort. In my old song, “Young and Tragic” .. I sing “I don’t wanna be an alcoholic, young and tragic” .. but I was back then. I really just didn’t want to admit it. Now, I am an alcoholic AND I’m sober. I’m proud of my accomplishments. I’m learning to love myself. Thanks for the love and support over the years. Truly. Your love and support has helped make me want to become a better man and artist. I cannot wait for yall to hear this new album.. it’s the most sincerely honest “me” piece of art I’ve ever done. Blood, sweat, and tears went into it. No lie. God Bless you all !!! And thanks again, always.

🍔🤓 in #HoustoN TX burger hunting! Tonight, I was hunnngry .. so I ordered from TWO different burger joints .. hoping they would arrive at the same time .. and it actually freaking worked !! They both arrived within thirty seconds of each other !!! (The second delivery guy was definitely wondering wtf I was doing lol) Asked about Houston burgers and was pointed toward @eatbunslut and @burgerbodegahtx - figured I would do an old school burger shoot-out tonight. Ordered a double cheeseburger (as-it-comes) and a small fry from both joints. As expected, the fries were both trash, but all fries are merely edible spoons for ketchup. (If you don’t like it, fight about it in the comments 😝) Bodega Burger up first: it was spilling out the bun. It’s good but the meat needs some more flavor, imo, and they only put two slices of pickle on it, so that’s a boo. However! It’s good. .. but then I bit into the burger from Bun Slut .. damn. That’s a great burger! Great seasoning from the jump, great sauce, great size, perfect balance of flavors and textures. Wow! The winner is clear :: @eatbunslut

Burgering in #austintx ! Today we vibe out the breakfast burger over at @proudmaryusa This 🍔 is a double pork and bacon smashed patty, American cheese, onions, mayo sauce, and an over-easy egg. Definitely a breakfast vibe. First off .. I’m not a big mayonnaise fan .. so .. maybe I should’ve asked for light mayo, but I always order the burger the way it comes. Suffice to say .. it was too much mayo for me. When you combine that much mayo with that much pork AND an over-easy egg .. it creates a rather homogeneous umami .. not bad, but it felt “unclear” it terms of flavor. I was hoping for more char on the meat, or crunch from the onions, but it was all rather .. same-same. I dunno. It’s also really heavy feeling .. gives that “itis” hard. Was it a winner? Not for me .. but neither is it a “loser”. This is a decent cafe burger, but nothing to really “seek out” in terms of the incredible burger scene here in Austin. In Proud Mary’s favor, the inside and outside vibes of the joint are awesome. Great servers, team. And the coffee is great! Go for the coffee .. but maybe skip the burger, unless you freaking love pork and mayo. 🍔🤓 out

Getting burgs in #KansasCity 🍔🤓 Had to stop by the OG KC burger over at @town.topic This 24 hr burger joint has been slinging fresh burgs, made-to-order, since 1937. The interior is tiny, and you can belly up to the bar and watch the cooks work. The staff are super nice, and the joint has a few regulars that LOVE this spot. I ordered 2 burgs: a single and a double, all dressed up the way they make em: smashed beef, American cheese, lettuce, pickle, grilled onions, and ketchup and mustard. Heck yah. Personally, the classic cheeseburger is my jam. I started with the single, and it’s delicious. The patty is smashed so thin, I’m stoked that I also got a double. The double is where it’s at, ya’ll. Perfect amount of beef to bread ratio, and not greasy! That’s a hard feature. I ended up devouring both burgs, and walked around the downtown area for a couple hours after, because .. well, I just ate TWO burgs and needed a lil exercise, hahaha. Kansas City is beautiful ! I’m stoked to be here with @planetcomiconofficial and stoked to have had a delicious burger !!! Anywhere else I should try while I’m in town? Comment with your favorite burgers !!

Cleveland OH - In town for @fanexpocleveland -but had to stop and get me a burgerrrr, bcuz I’m the 🍔🤓 After I announced my trip to #Cleveland - and my intentions to find the best local burger - I was beset by sooo many DMs telling me the top spots. One of those DMs was from an old friend, the genius behind the best burger in Georgia, @nfaburger in Atlanta. He told me, simply, “Cordelia’s. Tell him I sent ya.” I get in from the airport, put my bags down, and head straight to @cordeliacle .. I’m hungry and tired and it’s cold out here! My pants are too thin, I think to myself. It’s cold for a Texan! (It’s only 40 degrees, don’t be a wuss.. SHUDDUPYOFACE!) Cordelia’s is MUCH nicer than I expected! It feels like an award winning fancy type restaurant, and not a place to get the best burger in Cleveland .. but I trust my 🍔friend. Sit up at the bar, order a soda water and “The Burger Box”. Yall .. this thing is big !!! I thought it was gonna be a lil burg, but this thing makes sliders call him daddy. Big boy! It’s held together with some fancy toothpicks, and it smells delish. Take my few pics .. then decide to cut in into quarters. Okay!! Wow!! So good! Juicy and cheesy and saucy and .. the bread ya‘ll .. the bread! So damn good! The onions and pickles inside are quality, and pop and crunch the texture sooo nicely .. I’m barely breathing. It’s just nomnomnom.. 😋 Cordelia’s calls it the “1921 style Burger Box”, and it comes with onions, pickles, and a smoked cheddar cheese that is melted and draped over the meat like a delicious skirt. Asking the meaning behind the name, they tell me that White Castle first opened in 1921, and it’s their “homage to speed pack burgers”. (I pretend to know what that means and google it before this review. It basically means quick, fresh, and at least two sliders. Cordelia’s doubles that: you get four!) I nod my head and sip my soda.. it’s so good, I keep thinking.. should I try White Castle again? 🤔 If you’re in Cleveland, make sure you stop at Cordelia’s. A wonderful staff, a huge elegant restaurant, and an incredible burger await you. I freaking LOVED it. 🍔🤓♥️
