Coup de Lune (7c), another one from one of our last few days in Font. Didnāt try this one sans knee-pad but definitely felt pretty cruisy at the grade with it on. Regardless, a very fun sequence and boulder!
Pretty rare for me to have to climb THIS spanned. Tour de Babel originally caught my attention because of a reel where the climber was using toe hooks on one arete and hands on the other to solve the bottom crux in a very cool way but as it turns out, this wide compression method suited me much better and I couldnāt not climb such an amazing feature regardless. Another classic from the forest š³
Ill Nino (8a) - Elephante
What a great way to end our 9 days in Font. To say that Iām impressed with the area would be an understatement! For a place like this, with the reputation it has, to over-deliver on expectations says a lot. It really does have it all.
It was so cool too, to see Kwin run around the forest on her first ever bouldering trip - really her first time bouldering outside at all - and absolutely crushing. I loved watching peopleās reactions as sheād find the most unlikely sequences and solutions, yet executed with such grace. Clearly some mix of surprised, confused and impressed š³š¤Æš®āšØ
It feels like we only scraped the surface of what this place has to offer and I really hope we can make it back here again sometime in the future š¤

I must have known of this boulder for more than a decade! Iāve seen countless videos of this iconic bloc and it feels amazing to have come to Font, the birthplace of bouldering and to have had the privilege to climb it.
Shout out to @9degreessydney for making this trip possible and to Kwin and @micky_jt for the spots, video & support!
Hereās to hopefully more rock content again in the future š¤
Setting boulders, especially coordination ones that work for a big range of heights is one of the most challenging, yet worthy things we can do as setters. Hereās todayās efforts at a 3 part coordo bloc demoād here by the extremely skilled 159cm @emilyscott_1319 .
Keep your eyes out for an event in early May catered specifically to those climbers lacking an over-abundance of reach! #fullvalue
9 degrees Chatswood is due to finally open its doors today! Itās been a mammoth effort from management and staff to bring this latest venture to life and I feel privileged to have played a small part in whatās no doubt a venue that will raise the standard for 9D gyms past and future.
Shout out to all our setters who contributed their time, skin and energy to create what I think will be a very well received opening offering of boulders. Above is a small selection of just a few boulders I had a hand in creating, in various levels of completion.
Iām sad I wonāt be there in person for the opening but I look forward to watching all the sends via tagged boulders from you all!

A purple power-endurance bloc from todayās roof reset at @9degreessydney . Lots of variety in style and hold type on this one āļø Enjoyed slapping between the @motifclimbinggrips macros in the steep!
