“What’s all this about an Elvis Wedding?” I hear you ask. It’s a song called ‘Elvis Wedding’, an unreleased track from the Separation Rock sessions. Next Friday it will be available for all to hear. On Sat 16 we screen the video (see previous post). You’re welcome.

Episode 57 of our podcast ‘60 Minutes or less’ is now LIVE and it’s a real treat to feature an interview with Australian singer-songwriter, @jackladder ! We first encountered Jack Ladder supporting @alkcm back in 2018, described by Cameron on the night as a “good looking guy – not to be trusted”. Ladder was sporting a pair of giant sunglasses and was crooning his way through a cover of @iggypopofficial ’s 80s gem, ‘Shades’. We were hooked from the off. In October 2025, Ladder released his latest album ‘Separation Rock’, a record he’s said to have been waiting his whole life to make. We spoke with Jack over Zoom in October 2025, a few weeks off the release of ‘Separation Rock’, to talk about the record itself, as well as collaborating with the likes of Alex Cameron and @sharonvanhalen and the big bad world of online streaming. There’s also the small matter of starring in a film with Nicolas Cage. Listen now - link in bio! #60minutesorless #interview #podcast #birthdaycakeforbreakfast #jackladder

Jack Ladder of the past is feeling kind of twitchy to not only witness Crime & The City Solution this Friday at The Lansdowne but also actively support with a set of his own songs solo beforehand as Jack Ladder of the future. Are you coming or do you purposefully miss out on all the good stuff? @crime_city_solu @solitary_count @thelansdowne Photo @mcleanstephenson c. 2011

We are thrilled to announce that Songwriter and Composer Jack Ladder will be joining the lineup as main support for the Crime & the City Solution performance on the 16.01.2026 at the Lansdowne in Sydney. With nearly twenty years of skin in the game, Jack Ladder has built and destroyed his own world several times over, leaving only his seductive baritone as a bridge to navigate between. Sentimental and mournful, Jack Ladder is an exquisite storyteller; his songs possess a rare eloquence and depth, and we feel very honoured to have him with us for the evening. Tickets are already selling fast for the Sydney show, and are available via the Crime & the City Solution Bands in Town & Songkick Pages, as well as directly from the Lansdowne Website.

“There is just something about Jack Ladder’s releases post Blue Pillars (sic. Poles) that lacks charm and enthusiasm that first made him so exciting. Sure, there are flairs of it, but the album overall feels like it just kind of meanders. This would be fine if it had some atmospheric charm to it, but even as background music it does not really set a clear ‘vibe’ and just feels kind of sorrowful. I’ll draw an arbitrary comparison here to ‘The Saxophones’ who craft a slightly similar somber sound, but there is enough charm that I often find they work perfect in the background for casual listening” - GhosTea13 Out now on @worseworldwide Photo @derekhendersonphoto
