The last month has been somewhat of a rollercoaster! At the start of this month, this absolutely wild crazy world we live in was lucky enough to welcome Frankie Seren Kidd. She has been the brightest light in what feels like a dark time in so many ways! I cannot begin to express my love for Sian and what she went through. She is an amazing woman and was incredibly brave throughout the 21 hours of labour followed by an emergency c section! The love Frankie has been shown by everyone we know has been beyond heart warming, and the support we have received has blown us away! It breaks my heart my dad is not here to hold her and guide me as a dad, but I know he is looking down on us and somehow guiding me through this wild time! For those that don’t know, Seren is welsh for start with two meanings, Sian’s mum is welsh and Seren is Welsh for star and the meaning behind the star is to represent my dad!

It breaks my heart to even begin to write this, but sadly the world lost the kindest, caring and loving man, my dad, Paul Kidd! I don’t know where to begin here as I have so many thoughts, stories, so many lessons he taught me and so many amazing memories we had, which words will only scratch the surface of. He was the best dad in the world. What he taught me throughout my life I will take on and do my best to make him proud and share all those lessons when I become a dad. The impact on everyone’s life that he met was nothing short of incredible. He helped so many people along the way, and if you met him, you’d know he always wanted to get a deal done and I’ll tell you now, he was like that up to the end and with a nickname like Poundnote Paul, expect nothing less! When he said he was going to do something, he did it without it even being a question. @paula_kidd the life you and Dad gave me, Billie and Luca was nothing short of a dream life. The holidays, the adventures, road trips, and everything else we did created so many memories I will cherish and reminisce forever. Paula, @billiejkidd_ , @luca_kidd , I will look after you as best I can and make sure we are all ok and we get through this time as a unit. Dad, it breaks my heart more than I can explain that you won’t be able to hold your grandchild, but I’ll be telling him/her stories of you all the time and sharing all the crazy videos and photos of you, showing how crazy, fun and caring you were! Dad, I love you. We may not have said it to each other enough but you mean more to me than I can explain. I will always tell stories about you until my last breathe and will do my best to make you as proud as possible. Take it easy now dad, rest up and enjoy relaxing for once after being 100mph until your last day! Love you!

What a mental 24 hours in Milan. Getting to fly in and be there for Luca at the premier of the @la.familiaco movie which he and the rest of his crew has dedicated the last couple of years to make was amazing. To say I am proud is an understatement and for it to be in loving memory of “The Geezer” Paul Kidd made it even more special! Hold your nerve.

To try and describe the last 6 months in words is almost impossible. It has been some of the hardest days and some of the best days I’ve had in my life! Losing a dad and becoming a dad in less than 4 months has tested me almost everyday! Digging deep to try and do what he would have done and be disciplined and “hold your nerve”!

There are two lunatics I know, @thisisrossb and @tylanjw , who really enjoy pushing people (almost enjoy it too much) to their absolute limit! This weekend was one of those times. The 4x4x48. Run 4 miles (6.4km) every 4 hours, for 48 hours! Not an easy task. This year however, Ross decided to make it even harder than it was. So he increased it to 6 miles (10km) every 4 hours! 120km in total. Without doubt the hardest thing I’ve done. I had some dark moments where stopping would have been easy. Somehow pulled through to get 108.5km over the weekend! There are 4 absolute warriors of the group I want to mention. @tylanjw who completed the same distance on the SkiErg! Absolute machine bro! @glenn_livingstone @thisisrossb @mikeylancspt completed every 10kms with a 10kg weight vest one! No words to describe that! What an elite group of people to do this with. All digging deep and completing the challenge! Mega work! Thank you to everyone that donated. It kept me going and it’s massively appreciated. Almost $600 from me and over $12k as a group! Thank you to these lads that turned up and dragged me through some of the hardest runs… @cjmoult @thosetrashpandas @callum_morris2000 @brentonprice_ @goguelinjack @iwan_burgwin @davidkingcoaching_ @dempsey_dxb Dare I say it…see you next year👀 @deadmansclique @movement_is_privilege

Someone asked me yesterday how long we had been running @aspexx.social for, and then realised it had been four years last Wednesday. It has been one hell of a rollercoaster. Year one, incredible. Years two and three were some brutal lessons, but huge growth personally. Year four, the momentum’s back, the energy’s high, and the ambition to push this business forward is stronger than ever. Running a recruitment business today definitely comes with its challenges. The world is evolving at a rapid pace, AI, new tools, shifting markets, changing job landscapes, and more competition than ever. I recently read that "embracing resistance" is key to being successful, and it made so much sense to me when I look back over the last four years. Getting to build this with Peter has been awesome, and having someone who shares the same drive, humour, and vision makes all the difference. One of the best parts......freedom to experiment, pivot, take risks, and back ourselves. Every challenge has pushed us to think bigger, move faster, and stay creative. Four years in, and it feels like we are just getting started. Here's to the next four!

13 years an expat! 100 photos just insane enough to capture it. Cannot believe how fast that time has gone! I’ve travelled the world (still many more places to visit), lived in Dubai and Singapore, made it through a pandemic, co-founded a business, got married to the most amazing woman, met so many amazing people along the way and some I’m lucky enough to have known over 10 years! Another 13 years an expat?👀
