I finally got to call Defying Gravity! Drama school Jack would be 😢
Setting up this production has been an incredible experience, and surviving the last week of tech with flu is something I won’t forget anytime soon. Thankfully, my voice held up (the medication in Saudi is certainly effective) and we’ve created a show I’m truly proud of with our beautiful cast, the crew, our amazing Orchestra and all the other 100’s of people that have brought this show to life. Special mention to the SM team who are truly amazing. Very proud to work alongside them.
Now, time to enjoy an alcohol-free celebration!

I love theatre and I love travelling and I’ve just signed a contract for my dream job!
Here’s a little story of what this means to me and how I got here.
I’ve always loved theatre from as young as I can remember seeing Panto each year!
Rannva, a teacher at my school knew how much I loved this and offered to take me to a show in the West End. 15 year old Jack had to ask what the West End was?
We arrived at the theatre and trekked to the gods before the lights went down and the pre- show announcement started.
The stage looked very small and I leant over and said something like “does it get bigger?”
Before I knew it, the Overture started and people dressed in black released the drapes and the scene change started as this chandelier rose from the stage, revealing this magnificent stage at Her Majesty’s Theatre!
The next day I went to my careers officer and told her I knew what I finally wanted to do for a job.
She asked what it was and I said a person dressed in black clothes on a musical!
She said “Jack, we have to be realistic and that’s not going to happen”!
At that time in my life my Tourette’s and ADHD was rife and hard to control.
I left her office devastated and one of my other teachers Beatrice asked why I was crying.
I explained my dream and what had just happened and she said Jack I believe in you and with hard work and perseverance you can achieve anything. Dream big and work hard she said.
The next week, I went back to my careers officer and swung the door open and told her I was going to be a stage manager on The Phantom of the Opera!
I spent the next few years learning how to control my Tourette’s and getting the qualifications required to get into Drama school.
As a 16 year old boy, I was feeling low and lacking in confidence so my Nan persuaded my Mum to let me go to London on my own to watch Phantom and remind me of my dream and to keep inspired! Thank you Mum and thank you Nan!
Cut a long story short, in the small things, we can achieve the big things we never thought possible!
I love theatre and I love travelling and in February I fly to Dubai to open the Phantom World Tour.

Wow… it truly lived up to the hype! My bestie and tour buddy (@jackconway01 ) and I just spent an unforgettable day visiting one of the Seven Wonders of the World — the Taj Mahal. And honestly? It was even more breathtaking and magical than we imagined. We were completely in awe the entire time. 🤍
We also explored the stunning Baby Taj and Agra Fort — both absolute must-sees! Our guide showed us the intricate process behind the Taj’s marble craftsmanship, and we even stopped by a local workshop where artisans handcraft beautiful cashmere and pashmina scarves and throws (yes… we couldn’t resist bringing one home! 😉).
Such an incredible experience from start to finish. Huge thanks to @getyourguide , Hello India Tours, and our amazing guide Danish for making the day so special — and of course to Jack for being the best travel “hubbie”! 🙏✨
From seeing it in school textbooks… to standing right in front of it!
The Taj Mahal always felt like a dream back then, just a picture on a page. But today, it’s real, it’s breathtaking, and somehow even more magical than I imagined.

When Playful Productions took a chance on me back in 2014 for the Shrek UK Tour - despite having no show-calling experience - I never imagined I’d find such passion for this work, especially while navigating Tourette’s and ADHD. I’m so grateful to the incredible teams and friends who believed in me and supported the journey. Proof that with belief and perseverance, anything is possible! Always strive to be the best person you can be even with the daily struggles you may be suffering! You’ve got this! What a job we get to do.
