I have played the piano since I was five - but have not prepared and trained for a performance until this weekend! After practicing most days 2-3 hours for the last seven months, tomorrow I am delighted to share that I will be playing a full program of music ranging from Bach to Philip Glass at the lovely Harbor Studios in Red Hook, Brooklyn. This past weekend we had an amazing performance art piece at Freshkills: ‘As Possible’ by the artist Camilla Carper. As the Photographer-in-Residence of Freshkills, I was lucky to collaborate with the team and make some pictures from afar and near showing this remarkable performance and the dancers from the top of North Mound, melting into the greater cityscape/ landscape. “If you love being out and about in New York City, this is the class for you.”⁠ ⁠ This spring, ICP faculty member Jade Doskow leads a walking course inspired by Berenice Abbott’s Changing New York (1935–39), revisiting sites Abbott photographed and considering how the city has changed, or stayed the same. Students will explore neighborhoods across New York and share their work in critique sessions at ICP.⁠ ⁠ Doskow is the Photographer-in-Residence of Freshkills Park, and her work has been featured in The New York Times, Aperture, and more. We filmed with her in her Brooklyn studio to learn more about her upcoming class, her practice, and how she approaches photographing architecture and cityscape.⁠ ⁠ Dates: March 1–29, 2026⁠ Meets: Sundays, 2–5 PM⁠ ⁠ Enroll at the link in bio.
