I know your birthday was last Wednesday, but I wanted to appreciate you today and still say happy birthday š
You were lowkey annoyed in this video lol we rushing out the BnB, kids being kids, and then here I come now you stuck lol. Never even heard of a cake filled with rhinestones, but I found it AND decorated it myself because I knew youād appreciate it.
But real talkā¦ you carry so much with grace. While Iām gone, you hold everything down, the kids, the home, your business and youāre not just managing it, youāre thriving. Thatās rare.
This really feels like a groundbreaking year for you, the year everything gets clear. Whoās for you, whoās not all of it. And the beautiful part is, you get to choose what you do with what you see.
Youāre walking into this year with a confidence and clarity that once felt far away. 29 laid the foundation and now youāre stepping into everything God has for you.
I sit back and think sometimes what would life even look like without you? (yeahā¦ weāll never know, iykyk). Your presence changed my life. Youāve built me, loved me, sharpened me and helped shape the man I am today.

I love full circle moments.
About two years ago, I felt the push to start singing more. I knew I could sing, knew there was something there, but I refused to step into something new without guidance if I could have it. Taking lessons with @jalisafaye was a no-brainer. Sheās truly one of the bestā¦musical, intentional, versatile, sensitive and will always have you back on the any platform.
And let me say this clearly, I PAID. I invested in her business because I knew she would challenge the way I think and sharpen my gift.
She taught me how important preparation is, writing everything down, being intentional with adlibs, choosing notes within chords, and approaching songs with purpose. Her classes didnāt just sharpen my skill, they built my confidence. I became more specific and intentional about how I grow.
Iāve had moments where I was thrown into the fire by some greats, thatās a classic way of getting better (it helped, no question), not fully understanding technique showed me how valuable one-on-one development really is. Thereās nothing like taking the time to truly refine your gift.
So going from being in a classā¦ to now standing on a platform in that same kind of setting, with the SAME teacher who helped shape me, is crazy.
So yeahā¦ this is an appreciation post. Iām grateful for you, Lissss.

What happened on Sundayā¦ I donāt even have the words yet. Itās gonna take more than one post to really unpack it.
But in this season Iām in, āGod Iām just gratefulā isnāt just a songāitās real life. Every door, every moment, every breathā¦ I donāt take any of it for granted.
Grateful for the chances God gives me daily. šš¾
