baby’s first TV credit 🎬 lets just say when I left Alaska for LA I never thought I’d get to write my first episode of television three years later. I definitely never thought that episode would be for a show as incredible, funny, and smart as Leverage: Redemption. A huge heartfelt thanks to the kind and hilarious @chrdowney - the show’s co-creator who wrote this episode with me - and to @valerie.weiss.director who let me pester her with questions and geek out over Star Trek. And thank you to everyone in my life who believed in me and supported me when I never thought I’d get this far. In true New Orleans fashion, love y’all! Cheers to creative perseverance in uncertain times.

Originally from Alaska, Jacky Watson is an LA-based writer with a rich Peruvian-Ukrainian heritage and queer identity. As a Writer's Assistant on Leverage: Redemption, Jacky wrote an episode with the show’s co-creator and produced it on location. Watson’s pilot Re-Life was featured on the 2024 Latine List and their feature Peruanitos was selected for Stowe Story Labs x Galway Film Fleadh’s 2025 Development Workshop. A sci-fi/horror nerd equipped with survival skills, Jacky writes inventive, authentic stories about complex people.

new best friend just dropped 🐾 we took 8-year-old ivy home from the shelter this week and she’s already sleeping the days away when she’s not attached to my hip like a snuffling barnacle. looking forward to the mild, low energy adventures with this ancient hound (i.e. lounging around as couch potatoes and watching tv together).
thank you @stowestorylabs and @galwayfilm for a truly amazing week in the beautiful and culturally rich city of Galway - it was such a delight learning from talented and experienced filmmakers @davidpope.stories and @constance_tsang and developing my script “Peruanitos”, an incredibly personal passion project of mine based on my family’s real stories. none of this would have happened without the tremendous support and generosity of friends and family. thank you everyone who kindly hosted and fed us including @arabicacoffeehouse1 for the fantastic Irish breakfast!
