Last year, I purchased my dream carâa milestone I worked hard to achieve. At the time, I hesitated to post about it because it didnât feel necessary to share and honestly it felt cringey to me đ
However, in todayâs political and social climate, Iâve realized how important it is to own and celebrate our victories.
Some Facebook Hero from my hometown and high school still remembered me as the young Black girl who relied on reduced lunch programs, angel tree Christmas gifts, and free winter coats.
I didnât have the best grades and I was FAR from a teachers pet. (Couldnât stop talking in class đ ).
During comment debates, rather than acknowledging my journey, theyâve chosen to weaponize those memories to diminish and discredit the success Iâve worked so hard to achieve.
To this gentleman, I say this: God is, and will always be, good.
