Welcoming
@ykhaamelz as our Professional curator for JICAF 2026! She majored and graduated from architecture UNPAR, yet she decided to pursue her passion for drawing. Since 2008, using both traditional and digital tools, she has been compiling an impressive portfolio as a freelance illustrator. She has gained experience in various fields such as fashion, music, publishing, advertising, branding, and interior design. Her work has been displayed in numerous exhibitions, and also published in books and magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, ELLE Decoration, L’Officiel, Cosmopolitan, and NYLON.
From 2014-2022, Ykha co-founded and served as the Head of Prints Design for her clothing label, DIBBA (
@dibbaofficial ). The brand is known for its unique, vibrant, and bold prints. Her true calling in art emerged when she started doodling her beloved pet, Babbot. This reignited her love for cartoons and comics, leading to a significant change in her illustration style. Initially a way to deal with work frustrations, Babbot and all her other playful characters now entertain and bring joy to people of all ages. This has led to local and international exhibitions, a published book, followed by collaborations with major local and global brands such as Vans, Lacoste, Coach, Netflix, Spotify, and Samsung. Since 2019, Vans Indonesia has exclusively selected her as one of their brand ambassadors for art. Babbot itself has turned into a brand for her to explore with.
Ykha blends her inner-child nostalgia and chaotic mind into a vibrant universe inhabited by an expanding family of cartoon characters. Among them, Babbot, Peputo, Sunday, and Monday are some of her most well-known and cherished creations. To further hone her skills, she is now beginning to explore animation. Every step of her creative journey is a learning experience. She continues to evolve her work, stating, “I always wanted my art to make people smile and feel like happy kids.”
