Day 2 at the United Nations for the 2026 ECOSOC Youth Forum.
Today focused on strengthening collaboration and advancing youth perspectives in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. 
I attended the side event, “Alliances in the Making: Youth Partnerships for a Sustainable Future,” where my breakout group, guided by @alancavagnaro , explored the question:
what is missing between young people and the institutions (governments, un bodies, civil society) that are supposed to partner with them? and what is one concrete thing that could close that gap?
I also had the honor of meeting His Excellency Ambassador Abukar Dahir Osman, Permanent Representative of Somalia to the United Nations, along with @usyouthobserver , the 14th UNA-USA Youth Observer to the UN.
Additionally, I connected with Cathy Guo of the International Youth Council, an accomplished leader in global youth engagement, and her friend @kikigaogogo , an entrepreneur and Top 100 Women in Global Sustainable Development honoree.

Honored to be representing the International Youth Council at the 2026 ECOSOC Youth Forum at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
Day 1 was centered on advancing youth-led solutions to global challenges and strengthening the role of young people in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. I had the opportunity to attend the Opening Session, which brought together global leaders and youth changemakers to discuss innovative pathways toward the 2030 Agenda, followed by plenary discussions on SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), each highlighting the critical role of youth in shaping sustainable and inclusive systems. 
In addition, I participated in the virtual side event, “You’re Already an Advocate: Innovate Locally, Impact Globally” (1:00–2:30 PM), which emphasized the importance of local action as a foundation for global impact and reinforced the idea that meaningful advocacy begins within our own communities.
Grateful to be in rooms where youth voices are not only heard, but valued as essential to shaping policy, driving innovation, and building a more sustainable future.

I shared my project Tiny Hands and my mission to inspire the next generation to give back to their communities: to use their voices, platforms, and creativity for good, especially when it comes to protecting and empowering children in the digital world.
I also spoke about something close to my heart:

We are allowed to be multifaceted.
Leaders and creatives. Advocates and professionals. Soft and strong. Purpose-driven and ambitious.
Over three inspiring days, we:
• took part in roundtables on the impact of social media and news on our generation
• explored ethical storytelling and journalism
• discovered AI tools shaping the future of media and education
• connected with industry leaders who truly care about impact
The energy, the conversations, and the belief in purpose-led change made this experience unforgettable, and reminded me why Tiny Hands exists.

The International Youth Council (IYC) was honored to contribute to the UNIDO Global Industry Summit 2025, convened during the 21st Session of the @unido_org Conference in Riyadh.
Our participation was particularly significant on Women and Youth Day, where we underscored the vital role of young people and women in advancing inclusive and sustainable industrial development. By bringing forward youth perspectives, we sought to enrich dialogue on innovation, climate action, and equitable growth, ensuring that the voices of future generations are represented in shaping global industry.
Throughout the summit, the IYC team engaged constructively with policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, and partners on themes including AI-driven transformation, climate resilience, industrial innovation, and global partnerships. These exchanges reaffirmed the importance of multistakeholder collaboration in building a more sustainable and inclusive future.
In parallel, the International Youth Council has initiated promising partnerships across the MENA and EU regions, strengthening bridges of cooperation and fostering opportunities for youth engagement and empowerment at the regional and international levels.
