HELLO 🫶🏽 There are certain artists where, if you’ve been paying attention from the beginning, watching the journey unfold feels genuinely special. @helsloot is one of those artists for me. I still remember discovering Helsloot early on, with his annual mixtapes filled with IDs and unreleased music that would stay with me for years after listening. Some of those records from the 2020 mixes still haven’t seen the light of day, which almost makes them feel even more timeless. From those early moments to collaborating and sharing a studio space in Utrecht with Tinlicker, it’s been amazing watching his world continue to grow while staying true to the sound that made so many of us connect with him in the first place. Now he’s taking the next step with his first headlining US tour, and the first stop is Chicago this Friday at @threetoplounge Doors open at 6PM with my good friend @goldy_wav setting the vibe for the night, and I’ll be closing things out after Helsloot. ‼️Also doing a giveaway. Some moments feel bigger than an announcement. @djhernancattaneo is someone I’ve looked up to for a long time. The first time I saw him was at Sound-Bar over a decade ago… an open-to-close set that wasn’t just a night out, but a journey. It completely shifted how I understood music… how the right track, at the right moment, can move a room in ways words can’t. I only started DJing during even DJing during COVID, streaming on Twitch. What started as a way to pass time became something much deeper: a way to connect, to tell stories, to bring people together through sound. As I get more experience, from that and through community values, Hernan has been one of the biggest influences in how I carry myself. Opening for him for the first time in 2022 meant everything. Getting to do it again feels even more special. I picked up ‘Twenty’ by Chicane back in 2016 and today finally felt like the time. ‘Saltwater’ is one of those records that never fades. I take a lot of pride when I DJ. My intention is to keep the crowd engaged while storytelling a journey from within. I lot of inspiration comes from @aboveandbeyond ’s 2011 Essential mix (GOAT MIX) where music and film blurred into something unforgettable where they sampled iconic movie quotes.
