“No Me Olvides” de @ix.shells es un proyecto con corazón y alma. Habla de mujeres artistas apasionadas y del legado que dejaron en este mundo, haciéndolas visibles por medio de ella. Ver el trabajo detrás, sin luces ni cámaras, fue conmovedor, porque son muchas las personas que forman parte de algo de esta magnitud. Estoy agradecida de haber visto el proceso y el resultado de cerca. Y, sin duda, uno de los regalos más lindos que me llevo de haber vivido esta experiencia fue el recibimiento y la reacción de la gente que vino a verlo: las interacciones y lo mucho que conectaron con las obras. Y esa, es la verdadera razón de todo. 💫✨

Video 2025 With No Me Olvides (“Don’t Forget Me”), we’re sharing a new solo project by Ix Shells, co-curated by Emilie Boe Bierlich for the Nordic framework and Juan Canela and Alejandro Cartagena for the Latino framework. The work draws on archives of nineteenth-century women artists across Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America, connecting their overlooked histories with Ix’s Afro-Caribbean and Latin American heritage. Using tools such as TouchDesigner, Notch, LiDAR, and generative sound, she transforms these materials into a large-scale, interactive installation where viewers’ movements trigger shifting fields of light and audio. STUDIO VISIT ■ @ix.shells One of the things I enjoy most as a curator is witnessing the evolution of my direct relationships with artists—in this case, with Itzel Yard, whom I met four years ago. Even now, from her studio in Panama, our conversations continue to revolve around generative art: the process of unlearning traditional codes of “understanding” art and opening doors to new horizons. Like the tropics, her work expands like a vine—not one that suffocates, but one that sustains and gives rise to new spaces of thought. These are places reached with intention, not by chance; with knowledge, not by guesswork. Itzel is an artist who, even when using an abstract programming language, reveals the human side of creation without ever forcing the concept. Revisitar este corto fue como verme desde afuera, con los ojos del tiempo — Ixshells: An Ethereum Story. Es como observar mi historia entre lo que fluye y lo que construyo. Hablar de mi padre, de mi casa, de Panamá, me recuerda por qué empecé a crear. El arte me salvó cuando las palabras no bastaban. Quise salir del estudio y recorrer algunos lugares del país que siempre me inspiran. Fue regresar al origen de una conciencia que aún me guía: ver cómo la belleza y la fragilidad conviven y como, en medio de todo, persiste la posibilidad de crear, cuidar y recordar. Programar también puede ser un acto de amor, una manera de no olvidar. Cada paisaje y cada silencio me devuelven a ese punto donde todo comenzó: una niña frente a una pantalla, soñando con construir su propio mundo.
