This Jersey girl has been a fan of Springsteen since I was a young teenager. There is no artist that I respect more, align with more, than this true American hero. I needed his energy and message more than I thought. #Bruce #theboss #democracy #landofhopeanddreams #usa
Happy 96th birthday to our queen and greatest inspiration Dolores Huerta. It is a dream and my greatest honor to know you, be inspired by you and to be on this journey with you, Greg and Barbara to make the Motion picture on your extraordinary life inspiring the next generation of organizers and activists and showing how ordinary people have the power to do extraordinary things and change the world. #timetotellherstory #sisepuede @doloreshuertafeaturefilm
Isabella and I went to meet @josh_fryday who is running for California lieutenant governor. I instantly felt like he was so real and clear about what is wrong with California and his ideas on what and how he will tackle made so much sense. He is a Former veteran, grew up in divorced family living paycheck to paycheck, he received a Pell grant and worked multiple Jobs to put himself through college- he really gets the issues many Californian’s face and cares. We need new democratic leadership with common sense and I feel hopeful knowing that this man exists and wants to fight for us. Please Check him out!

Today at a @agoodusedbook I found “Just Kids” by Patti Smith, who by coincidence I ran into last week in NYC, when I mentioned it to my daughter she insisted I share this story. I worked on Patti’s album “Dream of Life” in 1988 when I was at Arista Records and my boss and mentor Loren, who literally changed the trajectory of my life when I was 20 and showed me what a woman in charge and control of her life looked like, was a huge fan and when she devastatingly passed in 1992 from aids, when we were planning her funeral service we decided to play her favorite song “People have the Power” and I was able to share that story with Patti and she was very touched and thanked me. I felt very blessed that I was able to and that Loren may be looking down at me with a big smile. #Arista #pattismith
I am in awe of Jacob Elordi’s Oscar nominated masterful transformative performance as the creature in Guillermo Del Toro’s masterpiece Frankenstein. Del Toro brings his unique singular vision to the adaptation, while still remaining faithful to Mary Shelley’s beloved novel. The epic film is a love letter to Cinema, the handmade craftsmanship that went into every detail of making the film is awe inspiring. The themes of what it means to be human, misunderstood, and to forgive deeply resonate with me especially for the times we are living in. #CinemaMatters #jacobelordi #guillermodeltoro #oscars
This is 23. Happy birthday to my Isabella. A little walk down memory lane. So proud of the woman you are becoming and excited for the life you are building for yourself. I love you. May joy, love and peace fill your every day.
What an absolutely much needed evening at the Robert and Ethel Kennedy Ripple of Hope gala in nyc. Martin Cabrera, Magic Johnson, Stephen Colbert, Darren Walker received honors and gave the most moving impactful speeches I have heard in a long time and I got to hang out with dear old friends and new friends that are icons (not pictured) reminded and inspired by Robert F Kennedy’s famous speech that individual acts of courage and standing up for justice create small, cumulative effects that build into a larger powerful force for change and sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. Let’s all commit to doing just that!
In 2017 I supported the Hollywood Reporters women in entertainment and big brother big sisters mentorship program for girls when I brought @mrodofficial to surprise the girls at an event at Sherry Lansing’s home and I was deeply inspired and moved by the program and its recipients and am so happy to join as a mentor for the class of 2026. As a Latina coming up in a small working class town I didn’t dare dream of a career in entertainment and somehow was able to find my way to Hollywood, I am so dedicated to mentoring the next generation especially those with such close proximity #mentor
Today, October 8, is Latina Equal Pay Day. Together, we honor 10 years of #LatinaEqualPay Day and demand action. Latinas are paid just 54 cents, on average, for every $1 non-Hispanic, white men are paid, resulting in lost pay amounting to over 1 million dollars over the course of a 40-year career. The pay gap harms Latinas, our families, our futures and our entire country. We can’t wait to be paid equally, and we shouldn’t have to.
Join @mujerxsrising@equalpay2dayorg@lclaa to demand that Latinas be paid fully and fairly now! #LatinaEqualPay #Trabajadoras Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gVJ4_eb6
