We have huge momentum behind Cllr. Helen Ogbu in Galway Westâ
â
A community development worker, a foster parent to over 30 children, and tireless advocate for the community she represents on Galway City Council.â
â
đłď¸Next Friday, 22nd May, we are asking for your number one vote for our candidate Cllr Helen Ogbu in Galway West.
I have always been an advocate of unity and colloboration amongst the Left. â
â
That's why at the last election, I set out our vision of a common Left platform with the parties who share our Labour values of equality, solidarity and fairness: the Greens and the Social Democrats. â
â
đłď¸Next Friday, 22nd May, we are asking for your number one vote for our candidates Cllr Helen Ogbu in Galway West and Ruth O'Dea in Dublin Central, and to transfer left. đš
While out canvassing in Renmore this afternoon, we discussed a key issue facing many residents - road safety đ
As a councillor for Galway-City East, I will be proposing a quiet street initiative, similar to that in Dublin. This has been very effective to ensure traffic calming on streets like those in Renmore!
Transport and road safety are key issues for me in this bye-election. If elected as your TD for Galway-West, I will work to ensure that road safety and transport in Galway are at the forefront of national debate and that urgent action is taken for the people of Galway West.

A great reception in Galway today for the excellent @labourparty candidate @iamhelenogbu . No doubt Helenâs campaign is gaining more momentum as we get to polling day next Friday. #GaillimhOgbu #GalwayWest
Helen is the leading left candidate in the Galway West bye-election. đšâ
â
đłď¸Next Friday, 22nd May, we are asking for your number one vote for Helen to keep the seat Left, and to carry on the immense legacy of Michael D. Higgins and Catherine Connolly.
Fianna FĂĄil and Fine Gael have created a rental disaster in Dublin and across the country. â
â
There is basically nowhere to rent in Dublin.â
â
We need to see an end to no-fault evictions, and our Labour Bill introduced by @conorsheehantd would do just that. đšâ
â
Protecting renters is a top priority for Labour and Ruth O'Dea (@ruthodea01 ) in the Dublin Central bye-election.â
â
đłď¸ Next Friday, 22 May we are asking for your number one vote for Ruth O'Dea in Dublin Central. â
Join us this weekend and let's work together to make history in Galway West đšâ
â
Cllr Helen Ogbu is the leading candidate on the left, but we need your vote to send a clear message to Government. â

Canvassing in the heart of Galway, it was a pleasure to stop by and meet with former President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins and Sabina Higgins đŽđŞ
Grateful for their warmth, time, and continued commitment to community, culture, and public service.
I hope to follow in the footsteps of our former Labour TD and create impactful change for the people of Galway West.

This Government have normalised homelessness. â
â
And that's not good enough.â
â
Labour and our Galway West bye-election candidate Cllr. Helen Ogbu believe in harnessing the power of the State to build the homes Ireland needs. đš
This week in the DĂĄil, the TĂĄnaiste refused to call Bertie Ahern's comments what they are. Racist.â
â
We can never stop calling out racism in all its forms.â
â
Simon Harris himself contributed to the rise in harmful rhetoric last year when he commented that migration figures are "too high".â
â
We know the immense positive contribution of inward migration to Ireland.
It's time to tackle vacancy and derelictionâźď¸â
â
There's 40 properties on the derelict sites register in Dublin Central. You'd be able to snap up 40 properties in one morning if Government were serious about tackling this issue. â
â
It's not a silver bullet but having derelict properties in the middle of a housing crisis is a scandal!
đŁď¸Your vote is your voice. â
