Environmental Rhythms v.4
For this exploration I used video recordings of lightning strikes unfolding one after another.
Nature itself dictates the rhythm and character of the sound, offering patterns that feel both raw and unpredictable.
Each strike becomes a trigger for the modular system and multiple parameters in Ableton, allowing the same sounds to shift and transform with every flash.

For this exploration I recorded the view from a moving train where passing trains, poles and station lights create a constant flow of repeating shapes.
Each object that cuts across the frame becomes a rhythmic event inside the modular system triggering different fragments of audio and shifting parameters at every step.
This technique keeps revealing fresh patterns beyond the grid and continues to open new directions for creative sound design.

For this exploration I captured the rhythmic flicker of a broken incandescent lamp and transformed its unstable pulse into a sound sequence.
Each irregular flash becomes a trigger inside the modular system, activating different slices of audio and shifting sound parameters in real time which turns a simple visual glitch into a living, evolving rhythm.
This method continues to reveal patterns beyond the grid and opens new pathways for creative sound design.

A year ago during preparations for Sònar Istanbul, our festival pass glitched while printing and turned into something unexpected - a distorted pattern that looked almost identical to the visuals from our live set. After the show, we scanned the ticket and used @touchdesigner to build a generative system where the glitch becomes input data, analyzed and reinterpreted through its own structure. A small printing error turned into a feedback loop of machine perception - exploring how systems learn from noise and create new forms from imperfection.
