#Identity - "Liking myself the way I came out" "Just how important is self-love? For Emmy award winning producer and actress Quinta Brunson (@quintab ), it is a top priority.
Prior to creating the hit TV show Abbott Elementary, Brunson was making videos online. In her TED Talk from 2016, she explores how she got started making video content and the work she had to do to push back against the way that advertising told her she needed to show up in the world. “I wanted to create in a way that makes others feel good,” she explains. “So I had to feel good myself.”
How much do you like and accept the features that make you "you"? (Your natural hair type, your nose, your skin colour, etc)
How much do you like your "self"??
Watch Quinta define her personal idea of "Self Love" in this video.

Three-layered braids, including tribal braids with beads, are making a huge comeback as a top hairstyle trend in 2026.
The hair style which features layered braids in 3 parts, are accessorized with beads used to add weight to the ends of the braids; signifying elegance.
Asides working well for various occasions, ranging from casual vacations to formal weddings; another reason for the hair trend is it offers a durable, low-maintenance protective style that protects coily natural hair while being heavily accessorized with different accessories or type of beads, shells, and cuffs that can easily be switched out to change the look.

Coco Gauff embraces her naturally coily hair; also popularly known as the "4C hair texture"; frequently styling it in braids, puffs, or buns during tennis matches and in high-fashion campaigns.
In April 2026, the professional Tennis Star athlete shared photos of her wearing her naturally coily hair for a featured Miu Miu editorial shoot, in which she received online backlash labelling her naturally coily hair "unkempt".
To address the online criticisms of her hair, she responded highlighting that her natural, "un-slicked" hair was an intentional, minimal look, saying, "I love my hair in every state," while advocating for the representation of natural Black hair.
Further explaining that she wears her natural hair to avoid damage from constant styling, she also encouraged other young Black girls to embrace theirs, stating "If my 4C hair is good enough for that (a high fashion brand), yours is good enough"
