“Embers” is a whole week old! 🐥 I was listening to a lot of Brian Eno and Laraaji at the time I wrote this track and wanted to capture that feeling of stillness and calm I get from their music… I hope the listener can take a moment out of their day to just sit and unwind 🌀

Listen here: https://almostpiano.ffm.to/memento-so-lo A love letter to the sound of a piano, So Lo contains reimagined piano-only versions of selected tracks from their releases to date. Rawness, space and subtle layers of digital and tape processing give the record a unique feel, with depth and complexity woven tastefully into the simple aesthetic. Producer Oliver Price (Snoop Dogg, Dre Dre, MIA, Lucy Rose) reunites with Ciaran Jeremiah (The Feeling, Sophie Ellis-Bextor) and Rupert Cox (China Moses, Judi Jackson, Rhys Lewis, Myele Manzanza) on the piano. The nostalgic second release on the album ‘Memento (So Lo)’ is an understated, earthy and elegant recollection of something loved and remembered, featuring Rupert’s warm, homely, hypnotic piano playing. Oliver Price doesn’t play the piano, ‘At school I sat down at the keyboard and played middle C and didn’t take it any further, in hindsight that was a lack of foresight’. Now an award-winning song-writer and producer he can just about manage a few chords, ‘I think it’s human nature to revere what you cannot do’, says Oliver as he talks about his new atmospheric and progressive piano project ‘Almost Piano’, ‘I have a few friends who I idolise based on what they can do, and I also happen to have a lovely piano that I bought on eBay to attempt to learn on, so I put the two together’. The first Almost Piano EP has garnered over 3 million streams and the track ‘Wonderlust’ was featured on a US Subaru commercial. HiloLohi are proud to be releasing one track from ‘So Lo’ every 3 weeks, with the full album arriving soon!

2025. Fond memories forged in the fires of friends and loved ones. It’s been a privilege and a joy to work on so much amazing music, the level of courage and vulnerability i’ve witnessed playing live and working on people’s albums has been so inspiring. i’m so incredibly excited for the music which is coming out in 2026! ❤️ I’ve also been working away on my own music and been a little more withdrawn from here as of late, but looking forward to sharing exciting parts of my own journey with you all.
