Aheem by Rafael
A zine published by Rafael Martinez presents a selection of 34 images made with Aheem Sosa over the course of a calendar year.
The series began as a way to connect — a walk among friends that turned into a ritual.
This exercise tells the story of a friendship through Rafael’s eye and Aheem’s gaze.
The images also, in their environment, reveal the passage of time.
In the way the light catches Aheem, you can feel the softness of the winter sun shifting into the strong contrast of summer light.
Aheem by Rafael is a quiet musing on friendship. It tells a universal story of routine, connection, and the passage of time.
