Beyond grateful to be back again co-writing another tune for the nation. Couldn’t be prouder of my @tekken rival and musical comrade @benjaminkheng , whose genuine love, appreciation and understanding of this historical catalogue of songs never ceases to astound me. Glad to have witnessed and have played a small part in what you’ve cooked up 🥹
Also the biggest biggest thank you to Music Director @nitewonder , whose support and encouragement allowed us to explore and express ourselves in the most genuine way possible. His guidance was instrumental in bringing our collective vision of the song to life.
I sincerely hope that “Not Alone” has been able to play a small part in creating more happy memories for you all, and added to the joy of your National Day celebrations. Hope the long weekend has been a good one 🇸🇬❤️

Watching my name being projected up there as the credits roll is such a surreal feeling.
It seems like only yesterday that I was just 17, serving coffee and coiling cables for the previous generation of Singapore musicians playing for @amit_feat_amei . I remember watching them rehearse and telling my then fellow intern “Man, if I could experience just a fraction of what they are doing, I’d retire happy.”
So to see my name up there with some of these arrangers and musicians I looked up to since I was a youngling is really a full circle moment. Thankful for the camaraderie. And even more grateful for the OG Music Director @tmanator and the previous generation of Singapore musicians who are cheering us on.
One more show till we are home bound. 💪
A core memory.
This year’s #ndp2021 is really one for the books. And I can’t thank my 🎵partner-in-crime @linyingmusic enough for saying yes to writing the theme song with me. Her talent and sensitivity is unparalleled, without which the song would not have been possible.

SOUND CHECK Session 2 was a blast.
Hearing the panelists speak honestly about their experiences, perspectives, and the realities of putting yourself online gave so much insight into the parts of creative work people don’t always talk about openly.
Big thanks to Arts Resource Hub for collaborating with us — a dedicated resource for independent arts practitioners looking to learn, connect and grow, and to the National Arts Council for supporting the session. Find out more at www.artsresourcehub.gov.sg
Start small, be patient, work hard...the list goes on.
It sounds simple but it’s not that easy.
It might not be glamorous, but it’s good, honest work!
Our next session’s on 30 Apr, 6:30–9:30pm. See you there :)

Most music careers don’t grow just because you post more.
It’s choosing the right platforms, understanding your audience, figuring out what makes you you, and sometimes rebuilding your identity from scratch.
For Session #2 of SOUND CHECK, we’re getting into the practical side of building your presence online and in the press:
- How to choose the right platforms for your music
- What actually makes a strong personal brand
- How artists position themselves to be seen and heard
With:
@mariancarmelmusic@defecationformation@waxguitarservices
We’ll also be opening up a Quickfire Feedback Segment so submit your demos to stand a chance to be selected for feedback, or even mentorship!
30 Apr, 6:30–9:30pm. ARH @ 42 Waterloo St
Sign up is free, but make sure you book your spot! (Link is in the bio)

POV: ur keyboard malfunctions while playing
in front of a hall full of people 🫠
You’ll never know when a panic button might come in handy. This was one of those days. Thank the gods.
Community matters
The people around you shape your mindset, support your goals, and in turn shape the opportunities you get and the work you make.
Like Krysta said, you can’t do this alone.

Thank you for the consistency.
For the intentionality.
And for being a creative bedrock I’ve been able to rely on all these years.
Happy 50th, @apple .
