Opening Night of Dear Evan Hansen at Zach Theater was incredible! Dave has done it again, creating art with connection through a heartbreaking yet beautiful show utilizing a very talented cast. Evan Jennings portrays an anxious and complicated Evan Hansen perfectly. Leslie McDonel plays Evan’s hard working single mother, displaying growth and compassion in “So Big, So Small”. Dominic Peckiconis gives us a non-binary representation of Connor Murphy that makes us understand the character better than the original version. Eugenia De la Garza is Zoey, delivering depth in her role and beautiful vocals. Flynn Jungbin Byun Is captivating as Alana and JP Lopez is quick, funny, and sharp as Jared. Tracy Jai Sweeney and Rudy Martinez take the audience through the pain of grieving parents while finding hope in what’s left behind. Playing now through May 31 at Zach Theater, don’t miss it!
