Young artists collective Art Press [@itsartpress ] are currently accepting new members! 🌱 Art Press are Turf’s collective of young creatives (age 12-18) who work with Turf in monthly free workshops. Build Your Own Biosphere. Part 2: Digital Model Making (Art Press [@itsartpress ]) 🖥️ Sat 11 Apr 2-4pm Free & open to all aged between 13-25 Build Your Own Biosphere is a three-part workshop series led by artists Amy J Wilson [@amy_j_wilson ] and Meitao Qu [@mt_qu ], exploring how methods of model-making can be used to imagine utopian futures and prompt reflective dialogue about climate challenges. Drawing inspiration from Biosphere 2 and other experimental environments, the series introduces participants to physical and digital model-making techniques to design and build a miniature biosphere. Participants will have the opportunity to exhibit their outcomes as part of Wilson and Qu’s upcoming exhibition Biosphere IV at Turf Projects in July 2026. The session will introduce participants to CAD design using Tinkercad, learn the basics of 3D printing and have the opportunity to be 3D scanned! This session is part of our Art Press programme, monthly workshops for our collective of young artists. Our second alumni artist will be Phoebe Russell, alum of our own collective of young creatives: Art Press [@itsartpress ], who has gone on to study on the Fine Art BA at Slade School of Art [@sladeschool ] and was recently awarded the Clare Winsten Memorial Award. Join Phoebe and some of the Turf team for an informal discussion about their initial involvement with Turf, how it’s impacted their career and working processes and what they’ve been up to since. NEWSFLASH Celebration Event 🎉 Sat 25 Oct 2-4pm @ Turf Projects Free & open to all Art Press [@itsartpress ] are excited to invite you to celebrate our new exhibition ‘NEWSFLASH’. The exhibition is all about having our voices heard, and we want to hear yours too. Through placard designing, badge making and collage, we’ll explore exciting ways to express our thoughts on our society as we know it. There’s also the unique opportunity to get a photo opp with our resident Dalek! This is a relaxed, drop in style session where you can join in or leave at any time. Age: 23 Fave movie: Harry Potter 🪄 "My practice is multi-disciplinary and experimental and centered on construction and making, utilising natural materials and recycling found objects and materials to create sculptures, kinetic contraptions and structures. Seeing potential in everyday objects, I work with recycled materials to encourage people to engage with the idea of sustainability in an imaginative and creative way."
