🔥 Spread x Seri and Will’s Korean Night Menu 🔥

Dinner is fast approaching, and Seri Nam and Will Shaw are coming up from Manchester to cook with the bounty of the East Neuk. Fish from @davidlowriefish , veg from @eastneukmarketgarden , and meat from the @butcheryatbowhouse . All producers to celebrate. Seri and Will’s incredible menu is inspired by their recent trip to Seri’s home in Korea, with a few special ingredients making the journey all the way back to Old Cellardyke Harbour (@thehavencellardyke ).
The cherry on top is Meg Williams’s expertly chosen and beautiful wine list. We’re so grateful and excited that she can make it. Expect some very special bottles and a brilliant evening.
The table is spread. See you there.

We’re incredibly excited to announce Spread x Seri and Will’s Korean Night on May 18th @thehavencellardyke ! Our pals Seri Nam, Will Shaw, and Meg Williams are travelling up from Manchester for a big, lively evening of food, wine, and cheer. Seri and Will will be cooking an abundant fish-focused dinner (@davidlowriefish ) inspired by all the delicious things they ate on their recent trip to her home in Korea. They’ll also be using some beautiful ingredients they brought back in a very full suitcase. Meg has packed a fantastic selection of wines, including a few particularly special bottles, and she can’t wait to share some of her favourites with you. Tickets are £65. Please direct message us for a payment link. Come hang, drink, and eat. This one is going to be a blast! We cannot wait to see you all there. Guests should arrive at 5.30pm. We’ll have a drink in the garden, weather permitting, and dinner will be served at 6.30pm. Only a few more days until we take over @thehavencellardyke again. These three friends have been busy preparing for the event. Murid, who is an amazing chef and poet, will be steering the ship with his delicious Afghan menu; Sam from @montrose.edinburgh will be bringing the goods with some incredible wine; and Cosmo, recently back from @restaurantkadeau in Copenhagen, will be assisting in the kitchen. We can’t wait to be back hosting this talented trio. A night of feasting and friends. See you in Fife. 📸 @thetincamera

Spread is a budding event and magazine project bringing people together around food, culture, and stories. Nights around the table are at the heart of what inspires us. For this second dinner event Murid Laly is coming to @thehavencellardyke to share his Afghan Feast! Murid is a chef and writer based in Edinburgh. His Afghan Feasts bring the food of his upbringing into a contemporary Scottish context; Murid’s takes on classic Afghan dishes, in step with Scottish seasonality, are inauthentic and cooked to bring joy. Murid’s traveling with friends! Chef Cosmo Hamilton will be with Murid behind the stove on the night. And we’re extremely lucky to have Sam McFarlane Alexander, from Montrose wine bar, who will be pairing delicious wine by the bottle and glass for the evening. Murid’s feast will be warming, rich, and, above all, abundant. Shake off the deep winter hibernation and join us at The Haven Pub in Cellardyke on Monday, February 16th. The table is spread, and everyone is welcome. — Oyster and fizz on arrival at 6:30pm, dinner around 7pm spread until a relaxed 9:00/9:30pm. Bar until late. (Eventbrite link in bio). We can offer an individually served vegetarian option, if requested, but due to the nature of the event we are unable to cater to any dietaries. >>> Swipe for pics. Spread is a new food, art, and culture project and Tida’s six-course Moo Noi Thai dinner @thehavencellardyke is our first public event. We’re putting together a magazine for the spring about the people, places, and goings-on that make Scotland worth writing home about. Alongside it, we’re hosting pop-up dinners that are simply about good food, good produce, and amazing company. We can’t wait for Tida’s dinner. Moo Noi (“Little Pig” in Thai—the nickname Tida’s mum affectionately gave her after seeing her plump little pink bum as a baby) will be serving up big, herbaceous Northern Thai flavours using the best produce in Fife: Garden veg from @eastneukmarketgarden fish from @davidlowriefish and meat from the @butcheryatbowhouse Step out of the everyday, fuck your phone into the harbour, and come hang at The Haven. Incredible food, a welcome drink, and some special @vinetrail wine by the glass or bottle. Something unexpected might happen. A new friend, a new spark, maybe a small riot. The table’s Spread. See you there. The Haven, Cellardyke

Spread is a fledgling art, food, and culture project by @mrphoto @its_tida @thetincamera and @garstey We’re hatching a food and hospitality magazine, curious about the food, people, and stories that shape the way we live and eat. The pages will be filled with original photography and art, fiction and non-fiction, interviews, and sometimes a recipe or a few recommendations. Alongside the magazine, we host seasonal pop-up dinners and events. These gatherings showcase the best cooking and produce in Scotland, and they sit at the heart of what inspires us. We love food and sharing it in company. Everything we do is in the spirit of generosity. We want to build a community that is diverse, thoughtful, adventurous; sometimes raucous, sometimes philosophical; but all united by a love of food. We’ll be bringing our ideas to the printed page four times a year: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Look out for our first issue in April. Join us at The Haven in Cellardyke on Monday, December 15th for Tida’s Big Moo Noi six-course dinner for a taste of what’s to come. (Eventbrite link in bio).

Some pubs just capture the very essence of the place in which they exist, and there are perhaps no South London pubs that encapsulate the vibe that exists south of the river more than Deptford’s Dog and Bell. In this week’s feature @will_hawkes chats to locals and digs into this fantastic pub’s rich history, with accompanying artwork from @its_tida .

Johnny passed away at 8.45am on Tuesday, 17th October. It’s a strange thing to write, because it feels so cold and definitive, and whilst I know the fact is true, I don’t want to believe it. He’s also not ‘gone’, he will always be there with me, whether he likes it or not. A lot of my friends will have met Johnny, and will know how much he means to me, and will continue to mean to me. He’s been the most significant friend, more-than-friend, human in my life for the past nearly 7 years we’ve known each other. People that have met Johnny will also know what a passionate, electric, stubborn, principled, loving and gentle human he was. We started dating 7 years ago, and totally got each other in a playful and deep way. Two months in, I got a call from him at work, letting me know that the stomach pains he’d had turned out to be colon cancer. Aged 34. Since then, it’s been a fucking rollercoaster of treatments and bad news and trials, nausea, pain and most importantly, good times. We disbanded as a couple after 2 years together but never ‘broke up’, we lived with each other up until this March, and I’ve never had a deeper friendship. To most people from the outside, no one would know he had cancer. He was a determined trooper, an ace and relentless musician with the drive to perform and create, and had no time for bullshit or fickleness. I can’t believe I won’t see him again. He’s the best person I could have hoped for in my life and I’m grateful we spent the time we did together. I’ll miss watching fantasy films on the sofa, beers on Hackney Downs, breakfast, gigs. Bleaching his hair, walking Mila to get coffee, watching the cats tease each other, going to Thorpe park or drives to anywhere. See ya soon buddy, he said he’d let me know if there was a party going on, on the ‘other side’ but I’m pretty sure he’ll be starting it. Big up Johnny! Big love, Johnny xxx
