February is LGBT+ History Month - the perfect time to think about how you give back to your community. We’re excited to share that we are currently RECRUITING new Volunteer Ambassadors to help us grow and share our story collection in their local area.
Ambassadors use their skills, interests, and networks to develop our collection of first-person LGBTQ+ stories of hope. Ambassadors complete 4+ actions per year to serve this goal, with a huge range of creative responses to the challenge - recent volunteer actions include creative workshops, talks with young people, online zine curation, and interviews with LGBTQ+ people in their local area.
If you’re LGBTQ+ and live in the UK, we would love you to join the team. We welcome applications from ALL OVER the UK, with a few high priority areas this round:

International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia is a reminder that LGBTQ+ people everywhere still face discrimination simply for being who they are.
At It Gets Better UK, we believe every young LGBTQ+ person deserves to feel safe, seen and supported. No one should have to hide who they are to survive.
There is still work to do. But there is also community. There is hope. And there are people fighting every day to make the world better for the next generation.

Poppy joined @liverpoolfrontrunners for a run.She found a community. 🌈🏃♀️
What started as one weekly meetup became friendships, confidence, better mental health and eventually training for the London Marathon. ✨

Through Frontrunners, Poppy found a space where LGBTQ+ people can fully be themselves without judgement, fear or needing to shrink who they are.
From struggling to hold conversations on runs, to becoming co-chair of the club, her story is proof that finding your people can change your life. 💛
