📍 Burgberghalle Battenberg 🗓 Sonntag, 10. Mai ⏰ 17 Uhr Wir freuen uns auf euch! 🎼

We are very excited to announce our plans to record music by three wonderful composers: Cecilia McDowall, Judith Weir and Ingrid Stölzel! In April we will be taking to the recording studio to record beautiful pieces by all three women, including several works that haven't been professionally recorded before. This is an ambitious and exciting project that means a lot to us, but we need your help to get to the finished product! Recording albums these days is incredibly expensive, and we are asking our supporters to help us reach our funding target. If you can spare any amount to donate to help us see the project through to completion we would be very grateful! For donations please follow the link in our bio. #chambermusic #musicbywomen #womencomposers #recording #playlikeagirl

Heading to @cubouldermusic for a residency and performance of "Three Silent Things" for Mezzo and Cello. So exited to reconnect with Jennifer DeDominici who premiered the orchestral version of "Soul Journey - Three Whitman Songs" back in 2017! @cubouldersoundworks

🔲 Featured Composer: Ingrid Stölzel In addition to 4 new commissions, Mizar Trio will record existing works as part of the CoLab SA recording project in March. One of these pieces will be The Voice of the Rain by Ingrid Stölzel. Composer Ingrid Stölzel (b.1971) has been described as having “a gift for melody” (San Francisco Classical Voice) and creating work that is “richly introspective” (BBC Music Magazine) and “downright beautiful” (American Record Guide). Equally at home writing for orchestra, voice, wind ensemble and chamber ensembles, her exquisitely crafted compositions are united in the belief that music can create profound emotional connections with the listener. A melodist at heart, Stölzel’s compositions have been commissioned and performed by leading ensembles and soloists across the globe. She is the recipient of numerous international composition prizes and her works have been performed in some of the world’s most revered concert halls and festivals, including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Kennedy Center, Seoul Arts Center, Thailand International Composition Festival, Beijing Modern Music Festival, to name a few. Stölzel was born and raised in Germany and is currently Associate Professor of Composition at the University of Kansas School of Music. #newmusic #colabsa #contemporarymusic
