So I failed miserably at this 31 day challenge w e e p. That’s ok. Consider it a kind foreshadow at the amount of times I’ll allow myself to fail in 2025 for the sake of profound learning experiences.
The biggest reminder in this challenge: I miss writing. Younger unhappy me had so much to say, while older content me doesn’t want to say much. The last two posts I leaned more towards romanticizing my experience and friends in the writing style of my favorite authors. It was fun. More of that. I miss when people wrote more in their social media captions, so I’ll do it :•)
This was one of those sessions where almost every photo was my favorite. I had to just pick the first one that my finger landed on for this post, but I def want to share more later later.

Always in your face, loud, yet unpredictable. The air around her hums softly, like sunlight warming a room. She is yellow.. not the glaring neon of a warning sign (though versatile enough to be), but the golden glow of ripe mangoes, of wildflowers swaying in unbothered fields, of laughter that lingers just a little too long (we always run these jokes into the ground). She is the color of postcards sent from faraway places, the melody of an old song you thought you’d forgotten, and get excited about remembering. Yellow, not in the way that demands attention, but in the way it fills the spaces between shadows..gentle, persistent, and unshakably warm (like pee).

If you looked closer, if you listened to the quiet stutter of the world around her, you’d see it. The faintest blush, the golden pulse. People passed her every day, brushing against her colors without knowing they’d been touched, but if you paid attention, you’d realize she wasn’t blending in at all. She was painting over everyone, over everything.

Rosie 💕 Working with Rosie at the beginning of my photography journey taught me so much about what kind of photographer I wanted to be in both creative direction while on set, but also logistically in the backend. As I was trying to figure out what processes worked for me, Rosie was so patient, kind, and encouraging which to me was a lot to ask from a paying client (turned friend hehe).
We both were learning and growing so much, Rosie as a model, me as a novice, and really leaned on each other for confidence. I have so much gratitude for this point in time, and friendship with Rosie that really shaped me as an artist. I learned what it meant to be a portrait photographer, and what an honor it was to build someone up in an otherwise very vulnerable setting. I love you Rosie 💛
We were going for a lifestyle feel for this session! I rearranged my living room, and relied on the natural lighting, and ended up really enjoying the home-y energy this set gave off.

Happy Holidays everyone! Just wanted to take a minute not to reflect quite yet, but to say thank you to all of you who supported my little photography business especially within the last two months. I feel like I’m in a constant state of involuntarily stepping away from this passion of mine to tend to other demanding passions turned work, and the way this little following of mine is still here for each of my mini returns with just as much support, interest, and engagement for my work is something that really makes my heart soar.
Thank you to all who participated in my Cyber Monday and Holiday Sale (two things I’ve never done before and tried back-to-back!!!!), and for those who helped promote my services, or even booked my sessions. Without your love and support I wouldn’t have grown to what I am now, and what more I could be moving forward 🫶🏽

My beautiful friend, Khanh Vy!!!! Vy and I met in high school, and when she transferred into our school I remember thinking that she was the most beautiful gal I ever did see (still true to this day). Fun fact: Vy started the hot girl half up half down butterfly clamp trend that had all of us aznbbgs in a chokehold 🙂↕️
For this session, I really wanted to go for a swampy reptilian nymph feel, and Vy delivered all of that and morrrre. My queeeen. After years of only lightly staying connected with each other via social media, it was so refreshing and nostalgic being together in this medium. Love you so much vyzy ✨

Played with fractals for this session with Austin! Our first time working together. Never take for granted people who take a chance on me, friends or strangers. Not then, not now.
Working with fractals is so forgiving, meaning each shot was THE shot to me. It also really helped that Austin is a natural in front of the camera. I felt like I was photographing an idol 😭 NTS to share more from this session once this challenge is complete!

This session was so much fun! Everything about it encouraged play, exploration, and taking our time to find the right angles for those OOOO!! AHHHH!! moments. Kimchi always ignites this fire in me to be more risky, and to commit to playing. Everything I witness her do is done with her entirety and it’s always so fun to watch her dance, dress up, pose, and even talk. I still plan on sharing so much more from this session, but for now this one photo sums it up nicely ❤️🔥

My favorite memory of this day was just spending quality time getting to know Alex on a deeper level outside of the class/teacher-student setting, all in the sweltering summer heat. What a life! My dear liddo pal who has always trusted my creative vision since my official start in this whole photography thing. Kaylee, without question, booked my first concept mini-shoot where I put my rates out there for the first time. A very scary time in an already congested community, but her support on my first day and onward made me feel like I belong here. These photos, and Kaylee in general, always leave me breathless because 1. she’s obviously so effortlessly stunning (like come on the gasp I gusped when capturing this photo) and 2. she makes me yap until I have NO.WORDS.LEFT in me, and BECAUSE I have no more words, I’ll end with this: nothing can quite capture Summer 2023 with Kaylee. Love you pal 💕
