Welcome to my TEDx Talk! Link in bio x Not sure if I mentioned but I did a TEDx Talk with @tedxibiza . This feels more vulnerable than I expected; it’s a personal story at its core and I only hope it resonates with some people. Hope you love it and my very expressive face and hands x p.s. I promise these photos were hi res but didn’t realise until they already posted that the internet cursed me- accept these blurry pics and watch the video for my expressions in the highest of resolutions Enormous thanks to the TEDx Ibiza team, including the incredible @miakirnfedda , @ibizatravel , and so many others for making this event possible ā™„ļø

šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§At TEDxIbiza 2026, @isobruce @purpose will confront one of the defining challenges of our time: how algorithmic culture is reshaping truth, trust, and democracy. In her talk, she will explore how algorithms amplify disinformation, erode our shared understanding of reality, and threaten democracy as a system of governance. But her focus is not despair. Drawing on her professional work, Isobel will share the most effective ways to respond to this avalanche of division. First things first: video of talks not online yet, watch this space ✨✨ What a surreal, magic, nerve shattering, thrilling, beautiful few days. Feel incredibly privileged to be amongst 9 speakers of huge heart, creativity and generosity šŸ¤ Thanks to the @tedxibiza team, who were very many volunteers, all of whom played such an important role, from stage management to nerve calming to organising the most thoughtful itinerary that truly went above and beyond expectations. I don’t have everyone to tag but kudos to powerhouse @miakirnfedda , my incredible writing coach @theatreoftheancients , our performance team @marina.magdalena_ @olivia.gajetzki & lead curator @admakh & so so many more (Bex, Sasha, Sarah, Jo, Anna, Lucia- so many others). Dan, Harris, Sophia, Rafael, Maggie, Josh, Fede and Benjy- it was such a joy to see your journeys and have such a supportive team during the surreal adventure this was. Also was v v v special having my mama @katrinaphillipsinteriors and stepdad, @benb65 and platonic life partner @leonora_lucy there, as well as @elizabethroselangford and her stunning new art works ✨ Felt very special to do this on my beloved Ibiza, a magical isle šŸ¤šŸ•ŠļøšŸŒž I am unfortunately going to be insufferable now that I can say, credibly, ā€œWelcome to my TED Talkā€ šŸ”“

No, it’s not always about wedding photography. Sometimes it is portraits. This winter I have put in a very rewarding amount of time photographing all the speakers and musicians and some of the team for @tedxibiza Each person and each experience has been different, everyone finds being in front of the camera (and on stage) completely unique to them. And that is the bit I love best. Finding their uniqueness. The event is just around the corner now. I’ve had an ā€˜up close and personal’ insight into their talk subjects and honestly, I’m very excited to hear them on stage. If you have not yet thought of coming - JOIN IN - it is a great IBIZA event! ļæ½Something not about party party party!ļæ½Tickets are for sale on the web - and a link in my stories today.

TEDx Ibiza Thinking Cultura with Isobel Bruce & Jo Youle – Live today at 18:00 CET The second episode of our collaboration with @tedxibiza is here. This time, host @joannayoule is joined by campaigner and storyteller @isobruce , whose work harnesses culture as a force for narrative change across climate, democracy, refugee rights and gender justice. She works at the sharp edge of storytelling, where ideas don’t just inspire — they mobilise. Returning to the Palacio de Congresos in Santa Eulalia, TEDx Ibiza 2026 will bring together voices from across disciplines to imagine a more connected future. Tickets are still available. Tune in or save your spot via the link in our bio!

Truly believe there is no better place to bring in the new year than at @goldeneye Jamaica šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡² Read a lot of books, met wonderful people, ate, swam, snorkelled, discovered I am a natural paddle boarder, saw 1 (one) big sea turtle and released 98 hatchlings, watched Miss Marple with tea in bed with mum while tropical storms raged, had a bath in the rainforest, had a drink with Grace Jones, dropped my phone in the lagoon, went on a mountain art adventure, swam in a river, drank many rum concoctions while taking lame millennial sunset pictures, learnt how to journal, sang Bitch by Meredith Brooks at a very surreal private karaoke party, ok that’s probably enough but not even all of it. I love Jamaica! Thanks to all the people that make Golden Eye the most special, and Chris & Marika most of all šŸ’•šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡²āœŒļø

Marajó was truly paradise šŸļø I’ve never felt lonely travelling on my own, after all if you don’t meet people, you always have a book. But as I’ve gotten older I’ve become less adventurous, and I was nervous about four days in a remote-ish place with no companions. It seemed silly to come this far and not see a little corner of the Amazon! Of course that was all before I understood that people from this region of Brazil are the warmest, kindest people, and being alone meant I ended up on some adventures I doubt I would have if I’d planned with a friend. Special thanks to my guide, Ezekiel (last pic), who took me to and fro the beaten path, often to run errands or chat to his friends, which meant I ended up getting freshly baked bread, armfuls of mangoes, herbs from gardens that everyone insisted was a magic tea. Returning nourished, body, brain and soul, and (kind of) ready to be in the frozen north 🫶

But how lucky am I to get to work with these beautiful people, to adventure to this beautiful place and to participate meaningfully in protest and discourse alongside the people safeguarding our planet from the very frontlines. Between the 9 events we hosted, and the many more we participated in, we slipped some joy into the cracks; food, nature, laughter, caipirinhas (although, not sure I will ever be sold on cachaƧa de jambu šŸ‘…). BelĆ©m was my first trip to the NE of Brazil and I know it won’t be my last šŸ«€
