So many highlights but being there when you won your first world championships was pretty epic. Dedication, grit and still loving windsurfing!!! Very proud!
@islay_w smashing it out the park with a podium 🥉 at the first event of the season and despite injury still making the most out of everyday and being able to perform under the very hardest circumstances. 2026 looks bright. Again a very proud coach.
A great team and sharing a lot of laughs whilst working as hard as possible. Thanks for having me along for the ride!

11th at the worlds for me this year!
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit disappointed with the end result but I am proud of a lot of the racing I did and also the work I put in to get back here after a bit of a tricky first half of 2025.
I think I made the best of what I had to give this time. After a less than ideal recovery from a small knee operation in March, I was forced to readjust my expectations for what this year would be and take a step back from training to recover. I was grateful to be back on the water in time to race at the worlds but am looking forward to getting back on the bike and in the gym to build back stronger for the next one.
I’m also so proud of my team @emmawilson_gbr7 and @samrosscoaching for bringing home the very well deserved and long overdue win 🥇. Inspiring to watch as always and a privilege to be able to be a part of. Also big ups to @andybrown.surf and @james0102 for a huge win 🥇
I’m very grateful for everyone who has been there for me in any way in the last few months. It really makes all the difference. I’m also very lucky to be part of the @britishsailing team. A team full of people ready to pick you back up when you fall on your face.

Fighting her way to the podium! 🇬🇧 Islay Watson showed incredible determination at the iQFOiL International Games in Lanzarote. Starting from the Quarter-Final, she battled through each stage of the Medal Series, securing a well-earned 🥉 third place finish!

One Week Ago – An Unforgettable Medal Series Finale!
Exactly one week ago, the Women’s Medal Series Final at the 2025 iQFOiL International Games came to a thrilling conclusion in Lanzarote. Emma Wilson (GBR 7) delivered an outstanding performance, securing victory in the Grand Final and claiming the first title of the Olympic Games cycle to LA 2028!
