🇲🇽🦋 💙 What an insane opportunity, working with my friends at @bluetilesc to design a shoe for @nikesb 🤯 I want to start by thanking everyone at Nike for allowing us to tell this story and encouraging us to be as authentic as we wanted to be. Not only did we get to showcase our rad South Carolina skate scene to the world, but we were also able to confront the stigmas surrounding immigration in a time when it’s truly needed. Immigrants are here, and they make America beautiful. Everywhere you look, in every skate scene, at every restaurant you love, there is an immigrant just like me… who is probably a little scared of what the future holds for them… and needs your help to be their voice. Listen to your neighbors, be kind to people, and educate your self on a local level and VOTE, millions of immigrants don’t have the right to vote so we rely on our homies to speak up for us. 💙
I also want to say thank you to @davidbluetile for taking this risk… i know how long you’ve been trying to get a Nike collab, so for you to take a step to the side and letting me take center stage and tell this story is super selfless and admirable. Thank you @josh.803@_philiptaylor@arianasmoak@savltay@kharimccloud@poolsidecryer@jordangnat@reaveswoodworks@moondust_studio_inc@spinadoodles@molassesjones for lending your creative powers to this project and elevating it to a place I NEVER imagined 🙏🥹 I also want to give a major shoutout to all the shops who embraced this shoe and showed it so much love!
PS the shoes are sold out! I can’t just call Nike and tell them to make more… unless 👀🤣… 🧐
Slow Impact, proof that humans would be in a better place if skateboarders ruled the world 💙 Shout out to all the new homies we made 🫂 thank u @slowimpactaz and @ryan_lay
