Today was a bad day to be a Transvulcania Ultramarathon (@transvulcania ) course record, as both David Sinclair (@david.a.sinclair.92 ) and Blandine L'Hirondel (@blandinelhirondel ) destrominated the prior records enroute to winning the 2026 edition. It’s a 19-minute improvement over the 2024 record of Ruth Croft, who ran 8:02.
Her emotion was clear at the finish line.

This incredibly bests the longstanding 6:52 record by Luis Alberto Hernando from 2015.
