Shooting a film deep in the remote Sierra Tarahumara has been tricky, amazing, stressful and emotional. It took a lot of patience when it came to filming scripted scenes. But then it sourprised me finding the most amazing locations, set design and casting along the way that I could only have dreamt of. So improvising and incorporating them was the only way. Viva mex.
Over the weekend, we kicked off the shooting of OASIS, my first feature-length film. It’s a hybrid documentary set in Chihuahua, Mexico, featuring a powerful cast of Tarahumara women. After five years in development, we’re finally here—with a crew and five weeks ahead of us. Also slide to the end to see me on set 5 months pregnant, because that’s life. Surrounded like always by my family @15lfilms@arturpolcamprubi
Thanks to @cineicaa@icec.cat and all the markets, pitchings and labs this project has grown @docsmx@doclisboa.iff@cannes.docs
