Introducing my first collab with the one who’s been accompanying me making paper dolls since he’s still in my belly, Kai!
I just love seeing how joyful he is everytime he draws. He even calls it “bikin karya” wkwk 🤏 Lately, he’s been drawing me lots of house-themed artworks. There’s a castle pulled by a car, tree house, “superpower” house, and many more. He even turns them into cutouts, just like how I do with my paper doll artworks.
Through this collaboration work, I turned his drawings into a big paper doll artwork, with some imaginary characters living in the world he created. He may not fully understand everything now, but I hope that someday he’ll look back into this and remember how magical his childhood was.

Been designing my friends’ wedding invitation for years has made me extremely excited when it comes to designing my own. Thank you to all my best friends who helped me bring it all to life ✨

Around a month ago, I got an exciting request from @arlianushidayat to create a paper doll artwork as a birthday gift for Ci Christine of @brothnco . I was so happy because it’s one of those rare moments when my two creative sides get to meet. Brothnco has always been one of my favorite branding projects at Thinking*Room, as it allowed me to explore character design for the brand revamp. So here’s the paper doll artwork featuring Brothnco characters, exclusively designed by yours truly 🫶
A few years ago, I tried to stop using a real sketch book and went fully digital. But, it only lasted for a few weeks. I think the sketching stage is one of the most integral part of the process that connects my senses and thoughts. I always remember how Pak Priyanto Sunarto taught me never to use an eraser while sketching. Because sometimes, interesting ideas can appear from the rawest, smallest, randomest strokes in the corner of the page.

A glimpse of how I made the illustration for the recent collaboration with Loulou Patisserie. Since it’s 9cm white and round cake, I imagines Loulou’s cake as a snow globe, each features a whimsical winter scene where animals celebrating Christmas in the wood.
