New website launched to support Suffolk’s future councils.
Suffolk’s councils have come together to launch Future Suffolk, a new website designed to help residents understand Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and what it means for them. This shared platform brings together information in one place, making it easier for communities to stay informed.
On the site, you’ll find:
• Simple explanations of LGR
• A timeline of key milestones
• Maps of proposed council boundaries
• An interactive map showing provisional wards
• Details on councillor numbers

Households in Ipswich – apart from communal properties like flats - should now have received their new containers for Better Recycling to start on 1 June. ♻️
Over the past few weeks, our crews have been delivering the new green-lidded wheelie bins and grey food waste caddies across the Borough.
They’re now busy bringing new communal bins - for food and for paper and cardboard - to communal housing including blocks of flats.
In total, by 1 June, we’ll have delivered nearly 250,000 containers out to around 63,000 properties!
Got your new bins? 👍
Please hang on before using them - but take a peek inside the caddy to find a leaflet and a free roll of liners so you’ll be ready when the new service starts in June.
If you haven’t received your new bins, but your neighbours have, then the quickest, easiest way to let us know is by using our online form – 🔗visit link in bio.
♻️ Let’s recycle right, together

🏠 Your new rights: A more secure tenancy.
Private renting is entering a new chapter. Your landlord can no longer ask you to leave without a specific, legally valid reason.
Our crews have been working hard to deliver new wheelie bins and food waste caddies to homes for the new Recycling and Waste Service which starts in June. They’re almost done but there’s just a few places left to go. So, don’t worry if you haven’t received yours yet – they’re on their way. However, if you haven’t got your bin and caddy by the 26th May, please contact your local authority directly (contact info' in comments). And for those living in flats, new bins are being installed throughout May. @ipswichgov@eastsuffolkcouncil@baberghsuffolk@midsuffolk@westsuffolkcouncil@suffolkrecycles
