As Macro Wildlife Photographers, we've all been there.. lining up the perfect shot, edging inches away from a twitchy subject.. when suddenly a well meaning passer-by shoves their head into the corner of the frame exclaiming 'what are you doing then?' Causing you to jump out of your skin and scare off said subject. For this very reason I've started wearing very obviously invertebrate related clothing, in the hope that I may be able to signal to the early morning dog walker a solid clue of what it is I'm exactly doing from a decent distance. So when @royentsoc got in touch and asked me to try out some garments with the possibility of a very entomologically related back print, this just seemed far too good a solution to ward of those pleasant but sneaky interrupters, and look darn good in the process 😎. These awesome designs are just a snippet of what's on offer from their partnership with the excellent @teemillstore , I've had a fair few products from them, they're always of the highest quality, are manufactured with organic natural materials, and sustainability is at the forefront of everything they do. Hey all, long time..! Well, 6 months to be exact 😅. Bit of a sudden departure, especially as I had such a back-log of photography to share with you still, but I had a few other projects that needed urgent attention, and social media is getting more and more difficult to keep on top of for me these days. Certainly the most 'Halloweeny' spider I've photographed this year, here's another Strawberry spider (Araneus alsine) image for ya. This one is a little bit more 'strawberry looking' than the last one, so I hope this helps clear up any confusion about the local naming for this species 😅. I've been a little more absent around here than I would have liked lately, as personal commitments have made it pretty difficult to get much editing done, so you get 2 images for today's #arachtober post! Here's both the female, and male, Reed jumping spider (Marpissa radiata) respectively. I have to say, I'm not hugely happy with either of these images, they were among the most challenging subjects I've ever had to shoot, (they just never stopped moving, ever 😅) so to get any kind of stacked image at all I'm taking as win, and they're another pretty scarce species in the UK too 😊.
