Elise has been exploring the transitional state of long-term illness and its impact on identity, the physicality of art making and the need for balance. The work emerged as a automantic process with a sense of sloughing off old patterns, conditioning and identities in order to re-emerge.

This stunning celebration of Otherness hosts a community of galleria mellonella moths a species of moth who form symbiotic colonies with honeybees and their hives.
The title 'Turquoise Boy' comes from the Navajo nonbinary diety whose intersex nature was worshipped.
The sculpture is a living organism with the moths building their environment on the surface and digging underneath it, thus altering the purpose of the artefact and its final aesthetic.
Do we too accept their belonging to another realm, albeit metamorphosing our gaze?

@bi1anco mesmerised us today with her hauntingly beautiful folksongs from some of the many different ethnic minority groups in China.
Bianco is a UK based jazz and experimental vocalist and multi-media artist. Bianco has engaged in various performative and sound art projects. Her repertoire includes jazz, free improvisation, Chinese folk singing, Japanese Minyo, poetry, spoken word, body movement, and contemporary compositions. Her commitment lies in crafting an auditory experience that is both spiritual and unique.
Bianco first performed '夜歌 Night Songs’ in 2023 for exhibition, ‘Just the powder of the flute’ , a celebration of the full moon. With selected folk songs from various ethnic minority groups in China (study materials from ‘Musical Map of China’ project founded by Rhymoi Music). ‘I’d like to share songs and sound from China at the same time form the perform with structured improvisational vocabulary under studies of Asian folk music.’
