Interceptor

Hey everyone it’s ben here. Just came on here quickly to say thank you to everyone for the last 7 years of interceptor ! :) After 1 year of not even looking at the plank of wood I have decided that it’s probably time that interceptor closes its virtual doors. As my pal Dennis once said a few years back when I was nagging him to come out skating he said simply “the legs don’t want it”. This is how I feel now after a year off the board, many semi long term injuries and just a general change of direction. I can’t really talk about interceptor without talking about skateboarding as a whole and what it has meant to me personally. I think looking back my interest in skating stemmed from many different angles the two biggest was the sport and social side hanging out with pals and trying to do the sickest tricks lol.. but I think also looking back naturally I was also interested in the whole cultural and artistic side to skating, seeing something new id never seen before looking at all the online skate videos but also largely seeing skating in Bristol in person and the difference of that compared to what id seen before from Football and school life before. I think that natural want to create and express wether it was any good or not I shared with Sam starting off in school I remember being super hyped on our concept of a skate brand in year 7 named “smiley sb” and the whole vision of that where we would draw different smiley characters on our boards and thinking it was the most bad ass thing ever lol. But then growing up moving on through school continuing to make many skate videos which are all online until eventually we decided to make our first proper clothing and video brand aged 18-19 which was Interceptor.

good morning everyone :) This Sunday at 6pm (18:00 GMT) my new film 'seedling' will be released. This project was started in October over 2 years ago now which is crazy to think now haha.
