The Brodie 5 was designed as an immersive spatial experience, an extension of the musical acts. Drawing inspiration from the venue’s flat surroundings of football fields and industry, the raw space of TAP1 was set with dramatic and uncanny elements from an American high school stadium, merged with the glamour and extravagance of a classic American ball.
Inspired by the construction and design of sports fields and stadiums, these familiar environments were abstracted into alien terrains, further distorted by industrial lighting devoid of color, while the hall was divided by draped, translucent curtains, creating sections for every single act.
In this contemporary setting, where softness and elegance blended with toughness and high energy, the stages appeared as object-like structures that served as frameworks for dynamic, performative acts.
With the concept 5 years / 5 stages / 5 acts, inter.agcy created a flow of five unique spatial scenarios, where elements of theater and installation art blurred the boundaries between artist and audience. With the wish to add new dimensions and surprises to the classical music experience while maintaining the intimacy and improvisation that Brodie Sessions is known for.
The venue became an experimental landscape of sculptural structures - a living sculpture park where each attendee became part of the living breathing installation.
