Well, dam! (Pun intended.) We've been sitting on this one for a little while now, but we're finally able to open the spillway, as it were.... Earlier this year, Intention Space was part of a massive re-design of the Hoover Dam Visitor Center in Boulder City, Nevada! We are so honored to have had the opportunity to lend our skills and vision to this incredible project for the @bureau_of_reclamation , designed by @aldrichpears . Many thanks to @kubikmaltbie for bringing us along on this journey! Today with @intentionspace we installed several artworks, including this one, which sits in the sidewalk above a major underground pipe through which wastewater flows (by the way, earth day is every day. ) 🌿🌲🌎 More to come! My public art project #saltwaterstreets is a series of art inlays in sidewalks that marks where stormwater and sewage are stored below ground in a major infrastructure project to clean up the Ship Canal in Seattle. Through several years of work and partnership with utility and transportation staff, I developed this artwork and figured out a way to safely incorporate art in sidewalks. When the project is done, we will have around 15 of these portals to the Salish Sea in three neighborhoods of Seattle where a mile long tunnel holds sewage underground. #publicart #sidewalkart #ecologicalart #environmentalart #vaughnbell

It's been a while (🎶), and we heard you all like fossils? Tactile models for Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument (@tulespringsnm ) near Las Vegas, NV. This project is thanks largely to support and funding from the @protectorsoftulesprings , a non-profit organization committed to preserving the natural history and resources of these lands. The Protectors are a community of volunteer citizens who work tirelessly to reinforce the protections of the @nationalparkservice , through fundraising, education, and even clean-up efforts. Check out their page to support their work and, if you are in the area, join them for a ranger-led interpretive hike! Keep an eye out for another project we recently completed for Tule Springs! How gorgeous is this blue bird costume from @pacificnorthwestballet ’s 2025 production of The Sleeping Beauty?! We were honored to be a part of bringing Costume Designer @paultazewell ’s vision to life: producing each individual feather segment from the provided fabrics, via laser cutting. The pieces were then meticulously labeled and shipped off to PNB’s costume department. Take a look at last week’s Reel for clips of the process. A valued part of Intention Space’s foundations is collaborating with and supporting our wider artistic community, especially local to our beloved Seattle. We are so happy to be able to offer our technical skills to projects, artists, and institutions of all sorts.
