MahaNakhon in Bangkok by @buroolescheeren “Ole Scheeren in Die Welt: “When you look at MahaNakhon, you notice the different ways in which you can inhabit or experience the building. You can hide in the pixels, but you can also reveal yourself. You can stand on the roof or stroll along the public terraces on the ground. There are so many different moments, and that's something that attracts me: To give people the freedom of an environment that leaves some things open and doesn't pre-determine everything.” Video by @momentos_sg #instarchitects

Curated by @instarchitects / @mvrdv has completed a new two-building arts and entertainment complex, located in close proximity to seoul’s incheon airport. dubbed ‘the imprint’, the development contains a nightclub in one building, while the other accommodates an indoor theme park. the windowless structures are defined by three key characteristics: imprinted façades, lifted entrances, and, perhaps most eye-catchingly, a golden entrance covering one corner of the nightclub building. featured by @instarchitects / @zahahadidarchitects designed the Dongdaemun Plaza in Seoul, South Korea. Described by the designers as "a field of pixilation and perforation patterns", the backlit facade is speckled with minute perforations that allow the building to transform from a solid entity by day into an animated light show by night. @instarchitects "Every chance I get, I go visit Matera and its incredible ‘sassi’. There is a strange sensation that comes with walking through the streets of the historical centre, and no matter how many times I revisit, little details continue to reveal themselves. The atmosphere, the light, the landscape, and of course the focaccia bread – I can’t help but fall in love with this place." captured by @leonardo_telesca #italy #instarchitects

The facade of this building is endlessly fascinating. It splits reality into two parts. This area is know as petit ceintur, out-of-use rail tracks are now a promenade. A balloon 🎈of Parc Citroen is sticking out on the side of the building, an odd element in this already surreal view of #paris photo & caption by @citygirl_paris

“This is the facade of the IBL Bank in Achrafieh, Beirut. It is the work of architect Karim Bacha. The grids actually open in groups unlike in this picture where only one grid was opened by a technician. I have always been a fan of optical art and I find this image to have an interesting optical effect. I call it Disturbed Rhythm.” captured by @serjios

as an architect, places like this office complex in Tokyo really intrigues me because just by adding simple coloured panels/doors, a building that would normally be super boring turns into something inspiring, fun, and creative - making it a much more pleasant place to work! 😃 do you agree? photo & caption by @demas #instarchitects

@snohetta has completed Under, the "world's largest underwater restaurant" @underlindesnes , which plunges from a craggy shoreline in the remote village of Båly, Norway. Designed by Snøhetta to resemble a sunken periscope, the 495-square-metre restaurant is fronted by a huge panoramic window that gives visitors a view of marine life. The building on Norway's southern coast, which can seat up to 40 people and will also be used as a marine research centre, is Europe's first underwater restaurant.
