modern retro
I love seeing certain vestiges of the past that I only really find in hotels anymore. First of all: I love an old-school telephone that dials the front desk directly. Forget QR codes and AI helpers and trying to make a request online. I picked up this phone and pressed one button and an actual person answered. Please don’t ever change.
Next: A TV remote and scrolling through channels manually. These days everything I watch is online, on a computer. It’s fun to try to find the Law&Order marathon channel in a hotel room. You know it’s there somewhere, lol.
And: Who doesn’t love a pen and a nice pad of paper to write down things you might want to remember? So classy.
The room decor fell in line with my little fantasy of a simpler life. Cool and clean… and nothing like my cluttered house. It’s a perfect little getaway.

beautiful giants
What’s the name of this plant? I feel like should know because I see them often — but not like these! They’re so large and polished. Somebody is doing their job.
Outside @theameswellhotel on my Mother’s Day weekend vacay. ✨
Another day at the office…
I had such a lovely lunch meeting with @jmeskus at @luluslittlekitchen today. Hibiscus lemonade, hummus, chicken, so yummy! I had to get some pics of the wallpaper, of course. So beautiful.
Jess and I discussed the upcoming show, Murder at Tipsy’s hideout. This talented lady is going to design the menus and the program! Come see her work and the creativity of many other talented collaborators on May 17! Tickets are available at www.dkwproductions/events

Magic
A smoked Manhattan! What a lovely experience! And just like a real campfire, the smoke did require me to take some allergy meds later. #real #worthit
Working…
Today we tested new menu items, scouted spaces, and discussed business strategy. God, life can be so fun sometimes.
Thank you @cwagnerphotography & @jderuntz ❤️✨
