💚🖤Today we’re excited to share “Old Soul,” our second single and first music video off 🅂🄰🄻🅅🄾
Written in the early days of the lockdowns, this song came together from the slow-growing and heavy sense of alienation I felt—not just from being apart from loved ones and friends but also from everyday strangers.
Living in a city means you’re constantly surrounded by people as you go about your day. But during the pandemic, this sense of separation became so palpable that it was disorienting (not to mention those eerie orange sky days when it seemed like the sun never fully rose).
“Old Soul” was born when I was looking out the window at a cereal factory across the street, watching the occasional person walk by, like a cold portal into a foreign world.
In 2023 with recording done, we visited our good friend (and Emmy award-winning 🌶️ )
@teodora.totoiu in Seattle, who worked with us on some ideas and beautifully captured the song’s essence.
She wore just about every hat in the process—writer, director, cinematographer, editor, and producer—and we are so honored by the care she took in creating this with us.
