Accompanying the exhibition is a film directed by Gia Singh Arora (@gia_dhadak ) for InOrdinary. This film offers a visually poetic journey, showcasing the cups atop a floating, surrealist sink. In the film, the cups become conduits of past memories and future possibilities, delving into the intricate tapestry of human connections, mirroring the diverse levels of intimacy we share not only with each other but also with these objects. This exhibition is also activated across Subko. The On-Air room screened a curated series of films throughout the duration of the exhibition. Curated by Mansher Dhillon (@thanks4shering ), these films wove a common thread exploring the relationships between humans and objects. A specially crafted pour over drink by Subko was also served in the cups created by Yaazd Contractor (@yaazd ) for the duration of the exhibition. Presented at Subko Mary Lodge, Bandra @subkocoffee in association with @subkoculture

In a world where our lives are seamlessly intertwined with mundane items, this exhibition invites you to delve into the significance of the objects we often overlook. From the cups we sip our morning coffee from to the chairs we sit on, these objects, extensions of our identity and culture, shape our daily existence. 'Many Cups in a Large Sink' challenges these conventions, presenting The Cup as a medium for inventive expression. Contemporary artists question fundamental notions of form, function, and action, infusing everyday objects with fresh perspectives. Through artistic reimagination, cups cease to be mere conveniences; they transform into vessels of profound meaning, inviting us to forge deeper connections with the world. 'Many Cups in a Large Sink' stands as an exploration of a ubiquitous everyday object – The Cup. Throughout centuries, cups have been a silent witness to human civilization, embodying both functionality and cultural symbolism. In this exhibition, we aim to challenge conventional boundaries surrounding form, function, and materiality. Nineteen contemporary artists, designers and makers have, in their own artistic styles, redefined cups, transforming familiar objects into rather unusual shapes that demand attention and contemplation.
