COMO LAKE DANCE FESTIVAL MEET THE TEACHERS LAURA BESCHI & ALESSIO SCANDALE | BETWEENUS PARTNERING PRACTICE “Betweenus” is the space created when dancing together, where the priority is to express confidence, listening, and respect so that each person feels comfortable and able to give their best. When the “betweenus” connection is strong, dancing together becomes more fun, easier, and more fulfilling, leading to better results. The practice is intense and energetic, ranging from studying partnering and contact elements to exercises for strengthening and mobility for expanding awareness and movement quality. Improvisation will be the tool for developing listening, intuition, communication and creativity. additionally, learning stimulating duets will provide an opportunity to have fun and put the experienced knowledge into practice. The focus will always be on the quality of interaction, creating an harmonious connection with the partner, valuing each person’s uniqueness and encouraging the use of feedback as a tool for mutual growth. The goal of this practice is to improve awareness, listening, and technical skills, in order to gain more confidence in dancing together. Alessio is Italian dancer based in Berlin, he co-created the BetweenUs project with Laura Beschi. He’s a former core member of cie. toula limnaios and currently collaborates with Sasha Waltz & Guests. Laura is an Italian freelance artist based in Berlin, besides her teaching activities, she has worked for several artists and companies such as Elio Gervasi, Nicola Galli and cie. toula limnaios along others. COMO LAKE DANCE FESTIVAL MEET THE TEACHER FRANCESCA LASTELLA| FLOORWORK This technique class is a fun and energizing way to learn dynamic floor movements. Participants will explore rolls, slides, and transitions, building coordination while enjoying body process. Each session introduces playful sequences that enhance fluidity and movement control. The focus is boosting confidence with complex motion. By the end, you’ll have learned several new combo to continue practicing by your self and with friends! Francesca was born in Milan, she studied at Balletto Teatro Torino and Art Factory International in Bologna, here she won a scholarship to attend the Duncan Center (CZ) dance conservatory, where she had the opportunity to go deepier into her training with international teachers (from Forsythe Dance Company, Sasha Waltz & Guest, Lenka Vagnerová Company ecc.). In 2013/14 she worked in different projects with Lara Russo, Anna Albertarelli, Alexis Blake and Stefan Dreher. For Artemis Company she danced in the productions Traviata, Doppia Notte and Tosca. In 2015 she collaborated with Iris Erez and Collettivo Cinetico. Since 2019 she has been a teacher at Artemente, high training center for dance and from 2023 she also teaches at MilanoContemporaryBallet. In recent years she worked with Déjà Donné, Compagnia Balafori and Veicolo Danza.
